Same old thing with VC, word gymnastics with Christians. I just can’t for the life me understand how someone can not use their scripture as a bookmark for every part of life. I guess that’s what happens when you have a faith with a thousand versions, it gets hard to keep track of what means what to who and it also gets harder to prove your stance against other Christians, let alone non believers like myself.

Christianity does not purport to have all the answers. Only God does. However calling out evil is not wrong either.

If you think I've deflected then go ahead and think that but I know I haven't nor have I lied.

Murder is a sin and Hamas has murdered people, so has Israel. Hamas was/is wrong in their attack and so is Israel.

Jesus would not subscribe to murder from either side just as His commandments say. You forget that Christians have been persecuted for centuries too. During the dark ages millions of Christians were persecuted by the Catholic church mainly and most did not retaliate like Hamas because they understood it was wrong to do that because it would be murder. You forget that as Christians our hope is making it to heaven and being with Christ for eternity. Jesus Himself was crucified and He prayed to the Father forgive the perpetrators because they did not know what they did. We believe this world we are living in and death (aka the first death) are temporary.

And I have defended myself, you just don't like how I'm doing it. You're the one defending murder here. That is so wrong.

It’s like he doesn’t live in reality. He’s running off with absolutely no input into how the issue could be resolved. Do you live on no man’s island? How hard is it to conceive that one has the right to defend themselves?

Jesus is the author of the Old Testament no? Isn’t he God? The Old Testament is full of violence. You might be one of those Christians who only accept The New Testament but by your own doctrine, Jesus is God therefore authored the Old Testament.

seems like the Bible is predicting wars but not condemning them. Why would Jesus allow for wars if they’re in your words ‘murderous’?

The end is ... going to be how it's written. Considering how big the universe is, I wonder how many other civilizations and worlds are dealing with this. The Universe declares the Majesty of God, but it also declares the smallness of man. Considering the forces at work, even as we think, every second things are created, and destroyed, stars grow and collapse. It makes our wars over land seem small, like the sandbox in the bigger playground.

In the meantime, while we try to comprehend the incomprehensible. To box up and isolate God into a single idea or concept, we allow evil to manipulate us and control our thoughts and actions. I pray for clarity in all of this. I hope others will join me.

That we would one day turn our swords into plowshares... that is the dream. How much better the world would be, if we learned this one lesson? Yet here we are, war begetting another war. (Labor pains). Like I said before, I pray for clarity, for discernment, for wisdom.
