Broken logic detected
"Broken logic" how? Oh right, you don't have an answer. Clown. You complaining about K-Pop idols not "speaking English" is the broken logic here. You are given subtitles and real-time translation during ments.

While you're at it, why don't you also whine about them not "singing in English either?" After all, you can't understand what they're saying if they're singing in Korean right? Perhaps they should rebrand K-Pop to E-Pop now to suit your preferences?

And it's a "you" problem that I have a problem with something and I addressed it. Sleep well Hun.
Too bad for you I guess. Your entitled ass can go throw a tantrum that groups aren't learning English to speak to you. This sort of entitlement and childishness is so obnoxious, considering you have subtitles and even real-time translators. It's like you've run out of things to complain about so you just have to drudge up something for the sake of complaining. Perhaps you've forgotten that K-Pop is Korean pop and they sing their songs in Korean too. Or should they switch to singing in English too now, so you can understand them?

I've noticed this attitude in particular with Americans - they want everything catered to them because they think they're the center of the universe. Never mind the fact that so many groups have a significant market in Europe and Asia but fans there never complain that they should learn the local language smh.

Broken logic indeed. I have no idea what point, if any, this person is trying to make.

When someone is working internationally, and communicating with a large audience, the logical thing to do is to pick up English. English is basically a universal language, and it does make communication easier.
Again, not sure why you're having such a hard time grasping the point. During the ending ments at concerts, they literally have a real-time translator for fans to understand what they're saying. Same with video content. There are subtitles. They even make the effort to speak a few words or sentences in the local language. You expecting them to learn English on the other hand just because they tour internationally is incredibly childish, out of touch, and obnoxious. Guess they should start singing their songs in English too now, since you can't understand Korean. Should change the genre from K-Pop to E-Pop to satisfy the "speak English!" crowd.

Germany is no longer the center of the world and Thailand never was. The group I listen to learned Thai to communicate with fans. Why would I listen to a group I can't understand? What do we have in common? They're only touring here to manipulate and exploit Americans for dollars. Pass. It's not entitlement when the country with the most English speakers is India. Along with Chinese, Spanish, and French, English is a global language that's the primary language in multiple countries. If you want to sell me something, be able to speak to me. I don't appreciate someone who won't bother to learn my language trying to exploit me.
Hm, sounds like you're not the right "fan" to listen to K-Pop then. It's mostly in Korean. You can't understand what they're saying. Or should they sing in English now too?

No Hun, you are only clowning yourself defending a group who has nothing to do with your existence. I knew @Strawberrypie would have a better answer for you, why would I waste my energy on a troll like you who gets verbally abusive in other sections of the forum. I now remember, where have I seen your interesting interactions.

If I went to Korea to sell something or have a concert, I would learn Korean. At least learn a bare minimum. It's been a decade and most of them can't get past hi, I love you, Armyyyyyy, and bye.
Beside that I've seen a lots of compilation of RM feeling embarrassed where members can't even communicate in interviews in US and translators doing a bad job that even jhope gets irritated.

A couple years ago, SG mentioned studying English cause he's working abroad, and wants to work with more people in the US, therefore it's easier to learn English to communicate better. From that documentary he did for the solo album, he does speak some English with the people he visits. But, this is the same guy who very recently got annoyed when a fan asked him to speak English during a livestream. Not that he's required to use English all the time, but it's a little contradictory of his claims.

What I don't get is how JH is a freaking polyglot but he doesn't say more than the "hi, I love you, Armyyyyyy, and bye" and his "I'm you're hope" tagline.

English, grammatically, is not hard to learn. Colloquially, American English can be a nightmare. But they are intelligent enough to learn the grammar and speak it decently.

Here's what I think is super interesting: So far, of all the members, the announcement of his service is the only one that's contained warnings about intellectual property and trying to make money off of using his name. I don't know what this means, if anything.
That's an interesting observation. Good one! Yes, why Suga, in particular? The obvious difference in his mandatory military service is that, he is going to do "public service" (office work) unlike the rest of them who are/will be as "active duty" soldiers...

This means that Suga will have a "more open connection" to the public while in service...which means it's possible that some "enterprising" people might want to "do business" with him...albeit discreetly... So, H*be's "statement" could be a "subtle" warning to Suga, himself..! They know that Suga has lots of commercial productions...and is particularly keen in this field... As usual, H*be wants to "protect its own interest..." even from its "very own" artist... ;)

Yeah, it's like saying, "you'd better not have anything career related going on while doing your service", which, to be honest, is totally the kind of thing I can see SG trying to pull off.

True! Haha! Among all the members...only Jin and Suga have that "independent" streak...Former roommates for about a decade...both the eldest members...both uniquely talented other than singing and dancing... Although Jin tends to make a bolder move sometimes...Like choosing Nexon (competitor) instead of Netmarble (H*be's) to do "internship" in the gaming business (now Netmarble might "close shop," lol)...while Nexon got one of its biggest revenues in the last five years...

You clearly don't have a decent reply so you "haha react" and "angry react". I invite you to take a look at your broken logic" before spouting that nonsense at someone who clearly makes a valid point.

Which "group" am I "defending"? I didn't mention any group. Reading comprehension is important. Try again. Or go troll somewhere else. Whining about K-Pop i.e. groups singing in Korean and not "speaking English" is first-rate clownery here "hun". LOL.

The united states isn't the center of the world either, though they certainly think they are. Again, you have subtitles. At concerts during the ments they have a translator who translates right after they say their part in Korean. They often do try to say a few words in English too. I don't understand how you think you're being "exploited" just because they don't speak English. You're not being forced to spend money on them anyway. This entitlement of "speak English!" is just too obnoxious however. Do you want them to sing their songs in English too? After all, you "can't understand what they're saying when they sing in Korean". You do realize this is K-pop right?
You do you. I'll stay unbothered and spending my money on real talent that doesn't manipulate their fanbase. You can have the xenophobes.

You sound like a grade a troll, an arrrmy, or someone that works for hive. We get them often, and they usually can't help exposing themselves.

The least they can do is learn English if they're going to steal another culture's music and art, to sell back to them. Hip-hop is not Korean. It's an art form taken from the United States from the African American community. So is rock n roll, jazz, disco, bluegrass, rhythm and blues, and many more styles of music.

Without the contributions of Black people in America, the global pop scene would be very different. I take offense that I'm xenophobic when this is the definition of xenophobia. They can steal our music, but we're not allowed in their restaurants, can't date their daughters and sons, are spit at, and banned from clubs. Organizers had the audacity to ask for only White and Asian staff for KCON. I guess that's ok too, there's subtitles!

You are having a problem with why she won't spend money on something which she finds over hyped, passed a judgement about her country which I find totally irrelevant because as an Asian which does not understand Korean and millions of people who use translators ask their artist on their lives that they may reply to them in English and many of 'em do quite frankly who are not very well equipped with the language and try. Secondly you are defending the group, because in my original post which you replied to, I was referring to them specifically.
Don't project your clownish attitude on others.

Yeah, really. People are free to dislike things for whatever reason they want to dislike them. Disliking something and saying why you dislike it doesn't hurt anyone.

You gave facts. There would be no 875 without Black appropriations. 875 is KPop and will never be Black music.

That's hilarious because once again, you lack reading comprehension skills. Let's try that again.

- YOU may have been referring to a specific group. I was NOT.
- Your reasoning is ironically, childish and decidedly UNreasonable. Complaining about a Korean group not speaking English, when they literally sing in KOREAN, is the height of clown attitude.
