That is a cute graphic, and I like that it says to "make a right turn"
Agreed and yes, that we should.
Here is the thing, at the start it says "Everyone has made a wrong turn".
But when? Where?
When a new person comes into the world, then they too fall under "everyone".
(But.. when did they make a wrong turn, as they have just come into the world?)
No one could ever answer that question!
Because, no one had the answer.
Yet, we know it and we accept it as being so.
And now, that's the missing piece, that TWHOFTF explains to us, making it all make sense, and in fact it makes it easier to believe the whole Bible completely, even the parts we found (up till now) to be unpleasant and hard for us. It does this by revealing the reasons for it all and it makes sense of those difficult parts, by explaining WHERE and when we made that initial wrong turn.
(And why and how we have kept making them since).
That doesn't mean that everything is now made easy, but it makes it possible to understand what happened. But now, we have something new that can be hard and unpleasant, by learning the truth about us, that we didn't know before. As the saying goes.. "The truth hurts!" (but only at first).
Christ said to the disciples, that there were many things that He
still had to say to them, that they could not
bear yet.
But also, that He would do so for them, at a later point. That was a promise, because Christ always speaks the Truth.
So, while it's sweet in the mouth (ingfind the truth), it makes the belly bitter, because, it is not easy and it takes time, to digest it.
But if we can come to accept the (hard and unpleasant) truth, then we can also begin to really seek to repent, at a deeper level, while knowing that God did not make all of this for no reason.
So, we don't have to reject the Bible. In fact, it's quite the contrary. We can make sense of it and believe it.
