KPOP was always about ripping off from already popular artists and cultures, changing things a little and claiming that they are doing something innovative. Although, I honestly think it's the companies who push their idols to adopt a certain style like before 2017 it was Gdragon and YG. GD used to be the male idol whose concepts and style was either ripped off or other male idols were pushed as anti-GDs or the next GD. Taem1n was marketed as the next GD as well. Now after so many scandals BB's image has become controversial and a rookie idol saying they Stan GD or Big Bang would tarnish their pure baby image so companies probably go for the safer option by making their rookie idols say that they aspire to be like Taem1n who has a role model image. Also in KPOP nowadays they are putting more emphasis on dance and choreography so it makes sense that the newest trend is to rip off the guy who is known for his outstanding dance skills.
