In Islam a smile at a stranger is an act of worship. A kind word to your spouse / kids is an act of worship. Yes bowing and prostrating are act's of worship but it is much more encompassing then this. No, I don't worship anything. What is worship?
...worship sounds like there's some sort of obligation.
Let us use an official definition.
Simply put, worship is an act of devotion to please the one you are most devoted to. Whatever pleases God is an act of worship for Muslims, Christians and Jews. If money is your god then you will spend all day counting it, securing it, trying to increase it. You will find yourself devoting yourself to it. If you are devoted to whatever actor / musician / athlete then you will do all you can to please them.
Like i have mentioned to you before, we all worship something. I find most atheists worship themselves, there own intellect that is.
They are above submission to a Provider as they attribute all of their achievements to themselves. This is not an insult even though it probably comes off that way, it is only an observation.
"Or [they are] like darknesses within an unfathomable sea which is covered by waves, upon which are waves, over which are clouds - darknesses, some of them upon others. When one puts out his hand [therein], he can hardly see it. And he to whom Allah has not granted light - for him there is no light." (24:40 Quran)
