Matthew 3:13-17 NIV
The Baptism of Jesus - Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John. But John tried to deter him, saying, “I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?”
15 Jesus replied, “Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness.” Then John consented.
16 As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. 17 And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.”
Matthew 3:10-12
3:10 And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into The Fire.
3:11
I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance:
BUT he that cometh after me is mightier than I (Christ, in the body of Jesus), whose shoes I am not worthy to bear:
he (Christ-Jesus) shall baptize you WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT, AND [WITH] FIRE:
3:12 Whose fan [is] in his hand, and he will thoroughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner;
but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable FIRE.
3:13 Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized by him.
3:14 But John (Elias - Elisha -
17:12-13) forbad him, saying,
I have need to be baptized by thee, and comest thou to me?
3:15 And Jesus answering said unto him,
Suffer [it to be so] NOW: for thus it becometh us TO FULFILL ALL RIGHTEOUSNESS. Then he suffered him.
3:16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him (the returning of the mantle -
2 kings 2:13):
3:17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying,
This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
Luke 3:15-17
3:15 And as the people were in expectation, and all men mused in their hearts of John, whether he were the Christ, or not;
3:16 John answered, saying unto [them] all, I indeed baptize you with water;
BUT one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose:
he shall baptize you WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT AND WITH FIRE:
3:17 Whose fan [is] in his hand, and he will thoroughly purge his floor, and will gather the wheat into his garner;
but the chaff he will burn with Fire unquenchable.
Acts 1:4-5
1:4 And, being assembled together with [them], commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but, Wait for the promise of the Father, which, [saith he], ye have heard from me.
1:5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT not many days hence.
NOWHERE in Scripture does it tell us that Jesus baptized anyone with water. In fact, it specifically tells us He did NOT do that (John 4:2).
John 3:3-7
3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him,
Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born from above, he cannot SEE The Kingdom of God.
3:4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
3:5 Jesus answered,
Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water (human) and THEN is born (later) from above as his spirit-"Being" (his REAL self which is NOT human), he can NOT enter into The Kingdom of God (Who is a Spirit-"Being").
3:6
That which is born of the flesh is flesh (human); and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit (a spirit-"Being") - (a human+Being).
3:7
Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye MUST be born AGAIN.
When a human child is about to be born, the woman's "water" breaks. Water throughout Scripture is used to symbolize the people.
Isaiah 17:12-13
17:12 Woe to the
multitude of many people, [which] make a noise like the noise of the
"seas"; and to the rushing of nations, [that] make a rushing like the rushing of mighty waters!
17:13 The nations shall rush like the rushing of
many waters: but [God] shall rebuke them, and they shall flee far off, and shall be chased as the chaff of the mountains before the wind, and like a rolling thing before the whirlwind.
Revelation 17:15 And he saith unto me,
The "waters" which thou sawest, where the "Whore" sitteth,
are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.
Anyone who doesn't know the difference between water and fire at this point in time is certainly in no position to judge another (
Matt. 7:1-4).
