I only know of one b/f that was straight, the rest were celebrities also trying to hide their sexuality. All contractual of course. You be surprised at the amount of people that would find a celebrity no longer relatable because they were gay. How many teen girls are going to listen to songs about lesbian relationships? Probably not very many. Then you have to take into account the more conservative markets like the Middle east or China. That's billions of possible fans. Lots of money is at stake in the celebrity business.

A certain image has to be maintained.

You're right. Many openly and proud lesbians have tried to become mainstream singers, but none of them succeeded. One example is Hayley Kiyoko. The mainstream media is still not ready for a lesbian singer yet.

I don't understand how someone who doesn't sing particularly well, lacks on-stage presence and charisma, and can't even dance has managed to have such a high grossing tour and basically become the next MJ in terms of popularity. The sheer amount of media attention that she gets despite being mediocre is exhausting. I used to think that Katy Perry, Beyonce, Lady Gaga and Rihanna had cults of personality during their career peaks the likes of which we'd never see again, but TS has taken it to another level of obnoxious overexposure.

Agreed. Pop stars before those four women such as Gwen Stefani, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera were better. Has TS finally dethrone Madonna the Queen of Pop? The plot thickens.

Now I'm not really sure what she went through exactly, I just know whatever it is must have been pretty serious. Consider one of her latest songs called "exile". At first, it seems like her declaring herself as British, but there's a duality present there. She is doing the exiling and being the exile.

Wow. If you thought that back then... Read the lyrics to her latest album. She's in conflict because she knows she has become evil, but she also resents those who abused her. The saddest part is that she says they won't pay for they did. There's a very specific line that goes "Maybe in 50 years this will all be declassified" which is her last hope.

I've noticed that we've mainly been focusing on the symbolism behind Taylor Swift's work, but I think it would be important if we also dissected her lyrics too.

Here is a lyric from her song Blank Space:

"Nice to meet you, where you been?

Notice how she mentions "sin", when she sings "I could show you incredible things"? When I first heard that it threw me off, but now that I've become more aware of what the music industry is all about it's not very surprising to me anymore. It's still quite disturbing to me though, because everything bad in the world, is because of sin. That should make it clear that she strives for humanity's destruction.

It's like as soon as she see's them getting popular she has to "take them under her wing"...Does someone tell her to do it so that they can popularise and initiate the artist? or is it because she can use them to remain popular or so that she can control what they do so that they don't get bigger than her. I think it's really weird. Looks like she lovebombs them into a public friendship everytime she releases a new album or goes on tour. All of these girls are or were under 25

When Lorde came up in 2014 her album 1989 came out, they were seen hanging out everywhere then all of a sudden it all vanished. They seemed to be going on dates and their pics are very couple like.


2018 Camila Cabello when her song Havana was big. Taylor was bffs with her because she needed her for the Reputation tour. She had Charlie XCX open for her too but Charlie seems to have issues with Taylor, maybe she could see through the bs because she's around Taylors age and Camilla was only 21.


She used Olivia Rodrigo when Lover came out in 2019 because Olivia was a big fan. They have beef now because Taylor took credit for a song that was inspired by hers. For someone who is supposedly so nice and helpful to young artists she couldn't let a 18 year old off with a lesson because she just wants fame and money. Some poeple think parts of Olivia's song Vampire is about Taylor which makes sense.


Everyone was talking about how Ice Spice is the next big thing last year and ofcourse Taylor's bffs with her now.
