I am from South Asia and from what I have observed K-pop started to become popular in 2019-2020 and had a boost in popularity after Squid Game's release. But, now it is declining in popularity. All my friends who used to listen to BT$, Ex0, BP have already moved on. I actually see more Anime fans nowadays.Anime is starting to become more acceptable as a niche while K-pop is looked down upon.

a lot of western entertainment has been hit or miss as well. i dont think its that deep just that once something has already overdone itself on the music or entertainment market they move onto something else tis part of the cycle of junky entertainment thats released to the masses. eventually the artists or groups or industry run out of ideas and there is only so much copycat music that people can take so what else is there after they have done all the concepts they can think of?

tbqfh if they cant at least alter the song to add something new to it then cover songs are imho pointless, yeah their dancing is ok but its nothing new or special anymore not when every other group nowadays does so much dancing

id like to have seen instruments or someone genuinely singing yknow like a singer would do. these groups relly too much on dance that it take away so much from their vocals and they all sound winded after the first two or three songs in their concerts

the spice girls was more my cousins thing so idk them as much as i would but even so its such an obvious cover to do. do none of the members have any other talent besides looking pretty whilst they dance? at least rose can play guitar but she sing badly soooo the members in groups nowadays dont have a huge amount of character to them besides how they are supposed to act on camera.

The girl on the left had no chance because it was Chae yong. The girl whos appeared in multiple competition shows and always lost out. The public were rooting for her. Her sister Choeryoung is in ITZY.

i watched it ages ago but didnt care for the debut group lineup it was clearly set up for certain members to debut over the decent soudning ones. her sister isnt bad but neither of them stood out in either groups. for ex in itzy only yeji and ryunjin stand out the most the other members are ehhhhh neither great nor bad just hovering in the background bc they arent strong dancers nor singers. theyre just there if you know what i mean? again im not wowed by itzys recent song either. load of noise and mumbling lyrics about how they wanna be seen as queens or princesses. yawn zzz yawn zzz.

i know they can't do anything but if I was the 2 girls who were eliminiated for the profit of rigged girls I would have dragged mnet's deceiving ass to the mud and I would've opened a pathetic youtube channel to capitalize on a "woe is me" story.
