Nope. Nobody is hoarding anything here and that includes food. Plus there are strict rules in place against hoarding in panic times. In the last 15 days we've gotten groceries once and there is enough going around.

The only thing markets here have seen a shortage of is hand sanitizer but funnily enough most of the sanitizers sold out were "anti-bacterial" so it doesn't really make a difference.
I have no idea where you live but I’m happy you aren’t having supply issues.

The problem here is that people are being told to limit their outside contact. But also to have enough supplies for two to four weeks on hand. And then also not to hoard.. that just not possible. You can’t do all three. The only way to do two simultaneously is to buy a lot at one time. There’s no other way.

US doing US things? Even Italy is letting people go out to shop once a week as long as people are carefully following all the precautions.
Thats why it is a "limit". But i don't know, nobody needs 500 toilet paper rolls for a month unless you got some serious bowel issues.

This thread is starting to remind me of that scene in Lord of The Rings when they’re at the water elves home and the elf, Wizard, the dwarf, the human all start arguing amongst themselves as the ring glows and gets stronger...
Great analogy. I think also of Star Wars and the Emperor laughing in the background.

We are allowed to the grocery. But we are being advised to limit contact as much as possible. So one would assume the less times you need to go to the grocery the better, no?

I have to go every couple of days. I need milk for my daughter and I don’t have an extra fridge nor does it stay that long. But if I didn’t have to go at all, I wouldn’t. Not worth the risk to me or the ridiculously underpaid usually teenage employees.

There’s a family down the street with ten people - 8 kids. ANY shop they do will look like hoarding.

Can you guarantee that it will only be one month?

What do you not understand about people still allowed to go out for necessities?

Once a week is what the government is saying.

It's easier said than done to limit groceries and essentials...the burden falls on the store staff which aren't going to risk being trampled on...so I think they've been doing their best, but it really does depend on where you live...densely populated areas will probably see more panic buying than a quiet or rural area.

On top of that, some nations have issue police support or armed security to man the supermarkets which I don't feel is necessary, it would create more panic and hysteria where I am anyway causing people to bulk buy more.

Truth is, people are shit and we just have to get what we need and think of others. Let them hoard, no idea what they're going to do with all that stock when this all blows over...

And one lesson I've learnt is always have essentials in my store room. By essentials I mean medicine, dry goods and oil etc...you just never know what is around the corner and this pandemic is proof!

LOL is waiting in line what you got a problem with?
Yeah, If I don't have to go out, I'm not going out. I didn't want to go out when they had TP. The only way to avoid going out is to buy in bulk.

Medical Mafia double think...Don't go out, but only buy 24hr supply.

Aren’t they kind..

Catholic Church forgives the sins of worshippers affected by coronavirus

The Catholic Church has today granted forgiveness - under certain conditions - for the sins of the faithful struck by coronavirus.

Relatives who care for their sick family members may also be forgiven.

The conditions include the sick saying a certain number of prayers or following important celebrations from a distance.

Those who pray for the caregivers' wellbeing must also read the Bible 'for at least half an hour'.
That really sounds like some random occultism.

Buying in bulk is not equivalent to hoarding. And nobody is telling you to buy 24 hour supply. A hand sanitizer bottle (tiny) can last a person for a month, what is 50 going to do? Buying 5 bread packs is one thing, buying 60 is another.

I feel like either common sense has died or people have forgotten how shopping works. Most of Europe is doing fine, even Asia is doing fine regarding this. I feel like America is just being America.

Wouldn't expect better from people who are calling the whole thing "medical mafia" while the medical mafia is on 36+ hours shift trying to save people while all you are being told to do is sit on your couch.

Once a week is what the government is saying.
And the government somehow knows that once a week means there’s no risk? The people - thank you for your service - working in these stores are in constant contact with the public. Constant. The government can’t say “if you only go out once per week you’ll be fine” because they have no way of knowing that and no way of knowing who you’ll come in contact with during that outing. None, whatsoever. People aren’t idiots. They can deduce for themselves how often they’d like to risk themselves and others.

Final rights is an important catholic sacrament that people are currently being denied due to being hospitalized with an infectious disease. Not everything people don’t understand is evil or occult.

My father held on in a coma for days until I got the priest for final rights. Two hours after the priest left my dad “left”
