When you get saved & receive the Holy Spirit, you begin to HATE sin, especially your own.

In order to even come to Christ, one must realize their own sinfulness to understand WHY they need salvation.

That is why many never get saved....they don’t realize they are already going to Hell, that they already ARE a sinner which is why they NEED Jesus in the first place. It’s all pride.
I was talking a bit tongue in cheek but in theory you could go out and sin all you want couldn’t you, since you would never lose your salvation for any reason.

Though that’s not what scripture actually says.
At least not in this verse...and I broke it down for you.
1 Timothy 4:1
But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons.

The Spirit...means the Holy Spirit-correct?

1explicit
adjectiveex·plic·it\ik-ˈspli-sət\
1 a : fully revealed or expressed without vagueness, implication, or ambiguity : leaving no question as to meaning or intent

So, so far we have the Holy Spirit, leaves no question as to the meaning or intent. Says that in the later times
Later times...i.e now

some will fall away from the faith.
1fall
verb\ˈfȯl\
fell\ˈfel\; fall·en\ˈfȯ-lən\; fall·ing
intransitive verb
to enter as if unawares : stumble, stray fell into error We fell into a trap.

So they stumble and fall unawares away from the faith....
What faith do you think Paul is writing about here? Judaism? Islam? Catholicism? I would say that it’s the Christian Faith since he is writing to new pastor Timothy and he is the apostle of the gentiles, the answer is the Christian Faith.

So now we have the Holy Spirit leaves no question to His meaning or intent that in later times i.e. now some Christians will stumble fall unawares away from the Christian faith.

The last bit tells how...because they paid attention
1attention
nounat·ten·tion\ə-ˈten(t)-shən; sense 4 often (ə-)ˌten(ch)-ˈhət\
1 a : the act or state of applying the mind to something

to deceitful spirits and doctrines.

Put it all together and we see that the Holy Spirit is the one who leaves no question as to His meaning or intent that in the later times i.e. now, some Christians will stumble and fall unawares from the Christian faith because they will apply their mind to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons.

This is one of the verses that convinced me that people can fall away from faith. So to me osas can’t possibly be true.

When you put it with this next verse, its the knockout punch....
Hebrews 6:4-8
For in the case of those who have once been enlightened and have tasted of the heavenly gift and have been made partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, and then have fallen away, it is impossible to renew them again to repentance, since they again crucify to themselves the Son of God and put Him to open shame. For ground that drinks the rain which often falls on it and brings forth vegetation useful to those for whose sake it is also tilled, receives a blessing from God; but if it yields thorns and thistles, it is worthless and close to being cursed, and it ends up being burned.

Believing osas isn’t biblical and I think you end up calling the Holy Spirit a liar when you believe osas.

What you need is to answer people's questions. Still waiting for you to point out a post of mine where I relinquished responsibility for sin.
Well when you ask a question like this... So you're diminishing the gift of Grace to being inferior to human righteousness?... you can't put much stock on your own righteousness or menstrual rags as the church calls it... so the grace of Jesus must suffice because the church can't be bothered but believing in Him. Any effort to keep the commandments are ridiculed as holier than you and working to produce fruits are labeled as work salvationism by the church.

And I'm asking for one example to pin it down. You discounted one user's testimony and tried to goad them into "confessing" their sins while completely missing the point he was trying to make,
He who writes a booklet every time he posts ? Yes i don't see why he can't confess what sins he is striving? with. Is it murder or adultery or porn or what ?

you caused another to become emotionally distraught and you throw unsubstantiated claims about other's faith around without even attempting to prove what you're saying.,
So she is not complacent concerning sins but actually striving to work out her salvation with fear and trembling ? Sounds like she is on the right track. Good for her.

You approve by not reproving christians who think that major sins are forgiven just because they believe in Jesus.
Do you believe the Holy Spirit is present in the lives of Born Again believers? Do you think it is my job, His job or both to bring that conviction?

Perhaps I don’t come down in judgement on others very often. It isn’t that I don’t believe God will judge sin, but I don’t always assume I am called to a ministry of correction.

We are called to share the Gospel. I am sure that I am not alone in saying that the Holy Spirit will not let me rest when I am in the flesh, and that is HE (clue in the name) that brings holiness in my life and others I know.

The Holy spirit convicts of sins and guides us into truths.

I don't see much recognition of truths here... so i wonder why. Now we all see through a glass darkly but when truths are shown i think they ought to be recognized by brethren with the Holy spirit.

I find it hard to believe that the Holy spirit in you will turn on me and trample on truths i speak and show. That's my take on it.

Actually it's the bible and not the church that refers to them as menstrual rags. I think you still don't get what is being said. I won't speak for anyone else but myself now: I believe that my salvation is not tangent on anything I have done except accept Jesus as my Lord and saviour. That's it. That is what makes me righteous before God, not any holiness I may have possessed before salvation (seeing as we're all born into sin), but rather Jesus's intercession for me.
Could it be that you don't get what i say ?

The spilt blood of Jesus for remission of sins is valid for all who repent and turn from sins.

That's what it's all about... the actual removal of sins... so we become sinless without spot and wrinkle... holy and blameless.

Now not everybody will get there but our striving will make up for that. As long as we do our best to better ourselves and do what the Lord said with the help of the Helper of course... our efforts will be respected by Jesus. We give our best and that's good enough.

I don’t deny that you share some worthwhile things @TokiEl

Unfortunately (and perhaps it’s just the way you articulate it) you have decided to alienate a number of other Christians by suggesting that simply because they don’t share your interpretation of 1 John 3:9, we condone or promote sin. This is frustrating and really a distraction from positive relationships between fellow Christians here, and from more worthwhile conversations that could be had.

Please let it go.

There are Christians who cannot understand how grace and gratitude alone can lead a Christian to holiness. If they look to Jesus and believe to gospel, they are saved.

There are other Christians who may have grown up in legalism then come to understand the gospel. For them, Gods grace and forgiveness sets them free to live and serve in joy and peace.

Instead of wasting time and trying to make each other see things our way, if we are truly Christians we should be about the Fathers business. Last time I looked there were many lost people out there. If we are more interested in squabbling and correcting each other, we are wasting the valuable time we have been entrusted with. Duly this will be my last post / response on the topic.

I agree with this post by @Red Sky at Morning and in the mean time I sat at God's feet asking for scripture about this whole incident yesterday - God was faithful

@TokiEl God explained to me the situation and gave me scripture
Ephesians 4
He said, we all have a function in the body:
16 For because of Him the whole body (the church, in all its various parts), closely joined and firmly knit together by the joints and ligaments with which it is supplied, when each part [with power adapted to its need] is working properly [in all its functions], grows to full maturity, building itself up in love.

Then I felt He said your core message is not a bad one - about being Holy and casting off sin, but the way you say it and the perception you invoke with it especially with those who are not saved isn't right:
29 Let no foul or polluting language, nor evil word nor unwholesome or worthless talk [ever] come out of your mouth, but only such [speech] as is good and beneficial to the spiritual progress of others, as is fitting to the need and the occasion, that it may be a blessing and give grace (God's favor) to those who hear it.

He said clearly we need to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit so that what we say should be fitting to the needs of others and help them to grow!

I Felt He said this was for me and you as I had to forgive you last night, but He also said you needed to learn to be like this to others:
32 And become useful and helpful and kind to one another, tenderhearted (compassionate, understanding, loving-hearted), forgiving one another [readily and freely], as God in Christ forgave you.

Then He came and gave me Matthew 18 where He was talking about how important LOST PEOPLE are to Him and that whatever we do and say is to help the lost find Him. We shouldn't make people stumble and fall, but our focus should be to listen to the Holy Spirit in order to bring people to Jesus.

Anyway, thank you @justjess @Dalit @KingOfTheRock @Vytas and others for your kind words and support, I really appreciate it!!!

Filthy Christian... as one who is inhabited by the Holy Spirit. Is that even possible?

Believing osas isn’t biblical and I think you end up calling the Holy Spirit a liar when you believe osas.
Back up.
What do you mean it isn’t Biblical?
OSAS simply means that Once you are Saved, you are Always Saved.

It’s merely a definitive way of explaining the Biblical doctrine of Eternal Security......kind of like using “Trinity” to describe the triune nature of God.

The Bible is absolutely CLEAR that true believers ARE indeed eternally secure in salvation:

John 3:
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Jesus said in John 10:28-29:

“And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.”

Ephesians 1:
12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.

13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

***Ask yourself: What does everlasting mean?....... It means it LASTS FOREVER.

To say that it doesn’t & that a person can “lose” their salvation is calling God a liar, and means you do NOT actually BELIEVE Jesus saves us.

Okay, so we agree on that.

What do you mean when you say Christian, then? Just someone who claims to be a Christian, or a Protestant.. celebrates Christmas and Easter and stuff?

You should specify then, going forward.

Everyone here, myself, included, thinks you're talking about Christians, indwelt by the Holy Spirit, who are "...in touch with His converting power. "

Christians in Name Only is a very different thing, though. Very.

You are self confessed sinner even after coming to Christ... so confess what sins you indulge in.
Do you see how many times you asked me that question? Do you know what type of person asks another person over and over to tell them the specific Sins they struggle with?

Do you not realize the Spirit from which you are asking this? Do you think it is anything Christ Like? Look at the wording you are using, indulge in, even tho I on numerous occasions have told you I despise my Sins.

It would be one thing if the Spirit from which you were coming was one of caring and love, one of understanding and helpfulness, but it is clear to everyone that is not the Spirit in which you are coming from whatsoever.

If you were to say something more along the lines of, I read your posts and noticed that you said you are still STRUGGLING in some Sins, if you would like to talk about it, I would love to help you deal with them. I may have been down a similar path in MY STRUGGLE with Sin so I may have some advice on what has helped me in overcoming them. Regardless I want you to know that I ask because I care and I am here to help and I will be praying for you.

IF you are going to have the audacity to ask people about specific Sins that they are dealing with, especially in public, then THAT is a much more Christian manner to ask. But see Toki, you really dont care about any Struggle I or anyone else here actually has with their Sins. Because we are honest in the FACT that we day in and day out DO Struggle with Sins, you want to CONDEMN everyone and sit on your facade of a High Horse and tell literally EVERYONE ON THE SITE who professes Christ, they are all lukewarm and going to Hell.

According to your Posts literally YOU are THE only one who will be going to Heaven. I know you wont truly read any of this or answer any of it in any manner or honesty, but you TRULY need to recognize that the manner in which YOU Judge others, that is exactly how YOU will and are Judged. If you are caring showing MERCY, then you will also be granted MERCY, if you are showing GRACE and KINDNESS, then it will be extended to you.

But when you come off as ARROGANT and BETTER THAN EVERYONE and PRIDEFUL then that is how you will be met, and while you love to play the victim and pull out your fake little martyr card, the reason why everyone is calling you out is because one YOU ARE WRONG and two YOU ARE PRIDEFUL AND ARROGANT in your responses.

I have read most of the Thread from this point forward and what did I really see? That you seriously caused pain to a person who tells you they believe in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, and did you once act even the tiniest bit sorrowful or apologetic? Not at all, instead you basically mocked them and laughed at them.

Yet you have the audacity to dare call out anyone or ask anyone about their Sins? You are literally SINNING while on the board man, are you so incredibly blind and full of your own ego and pride to NOT see this?

Every single person on this Thread can see plain as day just how Sinful you are acting, and they can see your Pride, your Hardness of Heart, your Cursing, your lack of Love and moreover your utter Hypocrisy.

It is taking everything in me not to believe that you are a complete and total fake, and nothing more than a lying Troll. I honestly do not know if you even believe in Jesus Christ whatsoever, and are here just to Troll everyone because all of your responses are canned short and have zero humanity within them.

I have been trying for months to take you as just a young and zealous Christian who is new to the Faith, but you more and more so show that you really are making everything up as you go.

So far the ONLY testimony I have seen from you is this Jesus squeezed my liver over Porn testimony, literally nothing else that has ever come out of your mouth has any type of humanity, or reality based aspects to it.

I read from everyone else and they all have testimonies and stories, emotions, complications, logical believes, feelings, depth, desires, hopes, dreams, triumphs, failures. There are genuine people, real human beings that are communicating their lives, thoughts and opinions. You however not so much. Never heard your Testimony of Salvation. Never heard once of your life before or after you supposedly coming to Christ. Never heard of your ups, your downs, anything about yourself or your life, or your family.

There is literally zero depth to you whatsoever, in all this time, nothing! You accuse people of being Trolls, but they all have depth to themselves and the speak like real human beings. They tell us about things that have happened to them over the course of their 1000's of posts. We can discern things about their families, their jobs, their pets ect. You have almost 3500 posts and no one knows anything about the person behind the name Tokiel.

I am quite sure until I see real evidence, you are in fact a Troll.

And we all know how the response to this post will be, deflection, ignoring, and one or two sentences of a repetition of the same Troll stuff you have said a dozen times. If you are a real human, that has real experiences with God, that truly knows Jesus, then how about telling us your actual Testimony. What did you do before Conversion, what brought you to Christ, what has happened afterwards. What kind of family do you live in or with? What part of the World do you live in?

If you skip answering like a real human then everyone will know for sure you are a Fake and a Troll...

What point ?

He says he is a christian sinner... so confess what sins we are talking about !
You asked multiple times, this is who you are:

Luke 18:11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.
12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess
.

What Sins do I struggle with? The same exact Sins that you clearly struggle with, the only difference between us is one of us Prides himself on the idea of not Sinning, and the other is honest about their struggle.

I struggle with Anger quite a bit, I have got a hot temper and it has caused me to fall into some bad places because I react in that emotion rather than taking a step back, praying and thinking about what I should do or say.

You wont admit it, but just on this Forum, it is obvious to me and I am sure everyone else that you have an anger problem as well, I hope you recognize it so you turn to Christ and ask Him to help you with it. If you would like some help from someone who struggle with it as well let me know, maybe we could help each other, if you ever want to get honest with yourself and us and IDK act like a real human that actually cares about others.

I struggle with Pride as well, it sucks but I have a very hard time not trying to impose my will on everyone around me. I struggle with it pretty much everyday and I have seen many negative consequences for my behavior, but I ask God to help me Repent and put Him first and put others first, like Scripture tells us to do. However I would be a liar if I said I dont struggle massively with this everyday.

The fact is, everyone can clearly see that you also struggle every day, all day with Pride, it seeps from almost every single post you have written on the site. Multiple people have rebuked you for it but you keep insisting that none of us know what we see and that you are Sinless here. Hey man, putting aside Pride is probably the hardest thing to do in a Christian walk, at least I think so, but you know what, there are alot of real true Christians on this site, who I bet struggle hard, every single day, just like me and you who can help us in our struggle here, if we ask them.

If you talk to us like a real human being and treat us like we are real human beings, then I bet we could help you and each other try and figure out how to combat our Pride that is overflowing our lives!

I also struggle with cussing at times, just like you do, and that is very clearly a Sin. I have given my testimony of what happened when my mom died and what God did afterwards and I was able to Repent from that specific sin fully for a very long time, however because of me allowing my Anger Issues to overtake me, I have found myself cussing again. I hate it and I am trying to Repent again from it. I am sure that cussing is just a symptom of other issues in my life and other Sins that I have let overtake me because I havent been focusing on Christ like I ought to, but I have Faith that God is going to help turn these areas in my life around and will give me the ability to once again overcome my cussing.

I also struggle with Lust, just like you do, in fact you testified that you struggled with hardcore porno watching for quite sometime. Let me ask you, were you any less of a Christian while you were struggling with that?

If you are really a Christian and Saved, then you know that of course you were just as Saved during that time as you are now, but lets Praise Christ that He gave you the ability to overcome your Porno Addiction!

Do you really think you dont Lust tho? Never? Not for one second?

I do, I dont like it and I try and fight the temptation to not Lust but its there, as my members war against themselves, but again I am relying and praying that Christ can help me Repent more and more from it everyday. I have had triumph over it for long stretches of time but I would lie if I say I dont fall into temptation at times. It sucks and I have suffered here when I do, but thankfully Jesus understands and offers Grace and Mercy and picks me up and puts me back on my feet.

And one last one, I am a murderer, straight up, and guess what, so are you:

Matt 5:21 Ye have heard that it was said of them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:
22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

1 John 3:15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.

I have been angry at my brothers without cause plenty in my life and if you were honest you have you. I have also had fleeting moments where I have felt hatred for my brothers, when I have been hurt badly by them, and therefore I have murdered them. I can assure you, that you have too. In fact many times on this forum your reactions and actions towards others here show that you hate them, you call them fools, and are angry at them without cause, and therefore are guilty of being a murderer and hellfire.

Its a terrible thing to realize how guilty you really are before the Lord, but thank God that the ONLY reason why anyone will EVER go to Hell is NOT because of their Sins, but because they rejected Jesus Christ.

I struggle in all sorts of Sins, everyday, and I hate it. However what I know is that it proves I have zero merit before God about ANYTHING period. The only thing I have before the Lord is the Blood of Jesus Christ, THAT IS IT. I am dependent on His Mercy and Grace everyday to even think to overcome any aspect of my Sins. I know I am not the only one who feels this way, I know if you REALLY are a real human being, and one who REALLY is Saved you feel the same way.

I also know someone else who felt the same way:

Rom 7: 15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.
18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.
19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.
20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
21 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.
22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:
23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?

25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

I thank God thru Jesus Christ that I have been and will be delivered from this Body of Death!!!

If you want to have real conversations about Sin and work together as the CHURCH should in building each other up to help overcome them and give the Glory to God, let me know Toki I would be all for it...

I extend that offer to everyone else as well, I could use as much help from my brothers and sisters as I can possibly get and if I can be a help please let me know. The CHURCH is here to build each other up, to help overcome all our faults, not with Judgement but Compassion because whatever it is your are struggling with, we all are struggling with, some people are just willing to admit it...

James 5?

16Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed...

You should specify then, going forward.

Everyone here, myself, included, thinks you're talking about Christians, indwelt by the Holy Spirit, who are "...in touch with His converting power. "

Christians in Name Only is a very different thing, though. Very.
Yes of course but there are a lot of people who believe to be born again christians... but who clearly are not in touch with the Holy spirit.
