Right, so music and musical instruments can be used as a tool for good or evil. And listening to music / playing musical instruments isn't bad. I support it's use for good and that's not haraam.

I personally stay away from wind and string instruments due to the Prophet's hadith on those types of instruments.
However I am aware that there is a difference of opinion on this in Islamic jurisprudence.
A while back a shaykh whose mosque I used to attend had your opinion.
