TWHOFTF is all about the Bible, so it cannot be discussed without discussing the Bible or how Muslims and Christians read it. That would be impossible, as you will see as you continue reading it. I'm really glad too, that you are reading it, even if you are starting out trying to find fault with it. Many people have done that, only to eventually realise that they were wrong to have that view. Yes, I have read it multiple times and hope to read it again soon. This thread actually makes me want to start reading it again right away, so I'm thankful for it being here. The more people who read it, the better, for all of us. It IS a book to help us all. Hopefully, as you continue reading it, you will eventually come to see it. I hope that you will. How Muslims and Christians read the bible should be left to another thread. TWHOFTF - and anything related to the book itself - is what is being discussed here.
Are you reading it along with us as well?
What is your opinion on those first three verses?
As a matter of interest, I now know a particular person who told me that they were about to commit suicide, and then the very day they were planning to go through with it, they found the book, TWHOFTF, or rather.. the book "found them". And they began to read it that day and guess what they say now? That this book saved their life. Because of TWHOFTF, they decided that they did not want to commit suicide, but wanted to get to know God! And now say, that they are happier now, than they have ever been in their entire life and "having the BEST time of their entire life!". The e-book, TWHOFTF, literally saved their life! It changed them, from being an atheist, to being a believer in God and gave them the will to live. And now, they are telling lots of other people about it, whenever they can.. It has changed me a LOT, too, and all for the better!
As to your question, and my opinion, first of all I would ask you to recall what Jesus said about those who will enter into The Kingdom:
Matthew
18:3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and [then] become as little children, ye shall NOT enter into The Kingdom of heaven.
How many times, did Christ refer to the followers as "children", when He spoke to the people? In the book of Matthew alone, it is either close to, or around 30 times. So, becoming like children, is definitely important. What do children do? When spoken to, children listen.. they are open to new information, and open minded, because they want to learn, and they don't intellectualize everything (unlike we sadly learn to do, as adults).
Christ said, that this "becoming like children" is important for adults. Because, if you think that you already know everything there is to know (don't so many adults think like this) then you cannot possibly learn anything new. Because, you are not open to it. So, we have to become like children, or childlike (but not childish), if we want to be able to learn something new. At the very least, one has to be willing to give it "the benefit of the doubt" and, like it says, ask Father/The Lord God, to interpret it for you, and to listen, for the Enlightening of the Holy Spirit. So, it tells you to put your trust in Father/The Lord God while you are reading it, as when reading any of God's Books. That is your protection, from Satan, who tries to confuse you into misinterpreting what you are reading.
In the Foreword of the TWHOFTF e-book, it says:
What do the first three verses say? There was a war in heaven. That is mentioned in the Book of Revelation. Revelation also talks about the Morning Star. The Morning/Evening Star, is actually the planet Venus. So we are given some new information, with cross-references to Scripture. At the very least, the first three verses made me feel intrigued.. It presents that there was the war in heaven, and adds interesting perspective. I go, ok? how interesting... My opinion of it, is, that it makes me want to continue reading on, and look up the Bible verses (in the King of kings' Bible, or the KJV)Please excuse my lack of writing professionalism. I am a soldier, not a writer
and have written this Book, not to demonstrate and impress people with my
command of the English language, but to be as easy as possible for ALL God’s
adopted children to be able to understand.
