If religion influences your life and decision-making through means of fear, then I’ll call it mind control.
Yes.Can I just ask? You know in your next life?....you know, the eternal one, will you just continue reading and reciting your bible?......like forever.....and ever
....like you do here.
By that definition everyone is under mind control. Even so called free thinkers. If religion influences your life and decision-making through means of fear, then I’ll call it mind control.
Why would you want to be led by some spirit? Doesn’t that imply fear of independence and responsibility? I think we should all lead our own spirit. You cannot let your spirit be both saved and led, they’re mutually exclusive. That’s why selling your soul is a metaphor for giving away that independence.By that definition everyone is under mind control. Even so called free thinkers.
We are acctually called to be led by the holy spirit.
Do you even understand what Paul means when he exhorts Christians to be led by the spirit? There is what you think it means and then there is what it acctually means. Why would you want to be led by some spirit? Doesn’t that imply fear of independence and responsibility? I think we should all lead our own spirit. You cannot let your spirit be both saved and led, they’re mutually exclusive. That’s why selling your soul is a metaphor for giving away that independence.
It is still about how you interpret it.Do you even understand what Paul means when he exhorts Christians to be led by the spirit? There is what you think it means and then there is what it acctually means.
Your post reminded me of this song, and I don't think you'll mind the musical interlude in your thread :Can I just ask? You know in your next life?....you know, the eternal one, will you just continue reading and reciting your bible?......like forever.....and ever

Paul is referring to the holy spirit, the spirit of God. The holy spirit always desires to bring about peace and love and healing on earth. This is a reflection of the heart of God and his good intention toward his creation. If we are filled and led by the holy spirit and have the mind of Christ then these things are our chief ambitions and stirrings in all we think and do.It is still about how you interpret it.
Ohhh dear.....well, that's clarified one thing.Yes.
Not at all, you may adorn this thread with musical content if you wishYour post reminded me of this song, and I don't think you'll mind the musical interlude in your thread :
Do remarks like this reflect the character of a good person? What was controlling you when you felt led to say this?Ohhh dear.....well, that's clarified one thing.
The wheel is still turning....but the hampster is dead.
YesDo remarks like this reflect the character of a good person?
I think you may need a religion then
Do posts like this reflect an individuals inability to have any independent thoughts of their own?Wisdom from the Spirit
6 Yet among the mature we do impart wisdom, although it is not a wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are doomed to pass away. 7 But we impart a secret and hidden wisdom of God, which God decreed before the ages for our glory. 8 None of the rulers of this age understood this, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 9 But, as it is written,
“What no eye has seen, nor ear heard,
nor the heart of man imagined,
what God has prepared for those who love him”—
10 these things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God. 11 For who knows a person's thoughts except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God. 13 And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual.[a]
14 The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned. 15 The spiritual person judges all things, but is himself to be judged by no one. 16 “For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ.
Please don't think for me....you can't even think for yourself....this is quite apparent.I think you may need a religion then
Yeah, but you're in HIS thread that initially asked the question and you're constantly posting bible posts. I think Awoken was looking for a conversation, not constant biblical scripture. He probably thinks it's not furthering the conversation or the OP.Why are you so obsessed with my posts? Most people just shrug and disregard and wouldn't waste their time with fools.
