Who knew the world's problems could be solved with emails, tweets, petition signatures and phone calls?

Yeah right....people been saying it's five to twleve for almost 2000 years!I know, right? It's stupid. The prophecies must be fulfilled be4 the shit hits the fan, so to speak. And this is another prophecy, so we're getting closer by the minute. It's five to twelve, ppl!
Perhaps it is becoming increasingly fashionable to say "where is the promise of his coming" - read that might happen in an old book once...Yeah right....people been saying it's five to twleve for almost 2000 years!
Sorry for being facetious! Seriously though Todd, as you state elsewhere that you are a Christian, what circumstances or general world conditions are you looking out for that, if you saw them, would lead you to think we were in the end times?Yeah right....people been saying it's five to twleve for almost 2000 years!
The fall of babylon....i.e. the judgement of the institutional church. Judgement always starts with the house of God.Sorry for being facetious! I guess Jesus was having an off day in Matthew 24 then? The fall of babylon....i.e. the judgement of the institutional church. Judgement always starts with the house of God.
God is more interested in the church then the systems of the world. Trying to predict the coming of Christ by geo-political events is an excercise in futility.
The world isnt going to end. Not on september 23rd (nothing will happen on september 23rd) or any other day that anyone predicts or that - most likely - any of us will be alive for.yeah well, many of us want this to happen. maybe you have such an incredible life that you are scared to leave? Well, the bible states that we should not love this world because everything in this world is of satan and not god. And I for one, sure hate it! So bring on the signs!
Ouch. Is anyone else seeing these huge sponsored content videos in the threads? Annoying. If this worlds so horrible and you are so anxious for the end why dont you just kill yourself rather than praying for the rest og us to die with you?
Well much of what Jesus described in Matthew 24 was fulfilled in 70AD, so yeah he was spot on in describing the end of the age of Israel and the beginning of the age of the Church. All the other stuff that Jesus is talking about, famine, war, false messiahs, earthquakes, i.e. the birth pains, have been continually happening for 2000 years.I guess Jesus was having an off day in Matthew 24 then?
Would I be right in saying you were a preterist then, Todd?Well much of what Jesus described in Matthew 24 was fulfilled in 70AD, so yeah he was spot on in describing the end of the age of Israel and the beginning of the age of the Church. No, I am not a preterist. I don't like labels that put theology or doctrine in a box. I agree with some preterist concepts and I agree with other concepts from other theological "labels". Most prophecies in scripture have multiple fulfillments, so I leave open all possibilities. I also subscribe to the philosophy that most prophecies aren't fully understand until after they are fulfilled. So I am leary of any teaching that purports to know or tries to predict exactly how prophecies are going to be fulfilled in the future.Would I be right in saying you were a preterist then, Todd?
I'm not sure where this came from. I was only commenting on the "many of us WANT this to happen" comment. Fear-porn for doom-worshiping cuckoo clocks. Just my opinion, no offense.@Faker He-Man ...
Lol! It does all sound rather implausible!!!!! I guess if you take out the idea of a real God, and dismiss as a fanciful idea "Christ as died, Christ I see risen, Christ will come again", you can see the Bible through a far more knowing lens. Virgin birth, Red Sea parting, that silly story of Noah and God judging the world with the flood. Man - these Christians believe some unscientific garbage!
How out of step with our modern understanding of a self-creating universe where an infinite amount of nothing explodes...
Yeeeah..let me ask you something: Have there ever been over 100 ongoing conflicts in the world, at the same time? While earthquakes, floodings, massdeath of animals, crime the rate it is now and so on?Yeah right....people been saying it's five to twleve for almost 2000 years!
Good one, Sky! *brofist*I guess Jesus was having an off day in Matthew 24 then?
Normal compared to what?Yeeeah..let me ask you something: Have there ever been over 100 ongoing conflicts in the world, at the same time? While earthquakes, floodings, massdeath of animals, crime the rate it is now and so on?
Did teens used to roar at their parents back in the 50's? Has there ever been fully sighted drug sales on the streets, people openly mocking the police and every other thing we have?
You REALLY think this is normal?
