It's mystical because reading your earlier reply I thought of this ayat (and others) that prove the delicate intelligence of the Quran. Both views on salvation are true or can be true depending on the circumstances. Either way the "proof is in the pudding" of how Islamic societies allowed Christians, Jews, and polytheists, etc. to exist- obviously paying jiza with limited leadership roles but the history of tolerance is fully documented. Compare that to the cult, blood sacrificing Yahwists who fantasize over world domination...there is no comparison to Islamic societies that allowed various religions including their esoteric relatives like the Shia, Druze, Ismaili, and Sufi to be.

Having seen many extremes, like a priest who said that humans could not be good. Well, it is possible to be 100% good, it depends on what the person will do or their point. Otherwise, I have also seen people forced to follow the texts, and not only do evil. And others who did not follow it at all and were good people, knowing when the texts are written and rewritten. But on the other hand, I hate interpretation, because it goes from the mentality of the time and the ideology of the person (even if it is supposedly following).
