Slavery has been practiced throughout the world, but the western slavery has been one of the most barbaric ones and its traces still remain. Slavery in ancient times was employment, go even beyond that and we had sacred prostitution which used to be consentual for the most part.Slavery in the west was of another race because the people of the west considered themselves superior. They forced the slaves to convert to christianity and everything else we know about very well.

Nobody considers scientists to be Gods, people in the field spend their entire lives proving them wrong. That is what makes science fun and a scientist's personal opinion about some political bs doesn't matter at all when it comes to that. Its different than racist, sexist and toxic views that are literally said to be from God.

And you can no justify a slavery of a few decades ago to the slavery of ancient greece or a nation that is older than most religions. Slavery in most of the world has been true employment which has then been exploited by awful masters. But the western slavery was barbaric from roots up.
