Well 2 million won is around $2500. Which would probably cover another appearance for the group. So you wonder how many C-D tier groups are scraping by like this. Where the girls "take one for the team"

Also how many A-B tier groups might have started out like this? Or is this just the “open secret” of extra money brought in by these groups in general under the table, like a typical scenario? I’d imagine some really big name groups (male and female) would be able to make big tax-free bucks this way, which is horrible and disgusting…. I mean if a guy gave $2500 for an artist just starting out, do the math.

From the articles I've read, male/female idols from bigger companies have a more organized thing, there are VIP clubs in Korea packed with executives, millionaires etc.... The company ships the big company groups to these host/hostess bars, at this point it's not just about money, it's about stocks, investments, corporate connections.

I suspect the Burning Sun Scandal was linked to this network.

Creepy indeed. You don’t have to look any further than the thumbnail to see that, sadly. The thumbnail at the top, for the TAEYEON “Heaven” Cooking Class, immediately caught my attention. That girl looks like she’s hypnotized, in a trance. She looks like she’s under mind control. Whatever slice of “heaven” she is cooking, I don’t want!
