I don't know what you actually believe, but I've found that most people think that a bunch of rich Jews showed up in downtown Palestine less than a hundred years ago and thought that it looked like a nice place to start a country, just as soon as they killed off all the locals, who had been peacefully growing olives on their ancestral lands as long as anyone could remember.
The truth is that there have always been Jews in Palestine. They have been building homes and raising families and even growing olives for thousands of years, just like people would have you believe the Palestinians have been.
It's kind of funny to see people on this thread going on about colonialism and invasions. How do they think Islam came to the area? Missionaries? The first Muslim caliphate conquered Palestine not long after Muhammad died, and it's been one war after another since then, but there has never been a time when there wasn't a clear and strong Jewish presence. They are the only people who have consistently been there for the past 3000 years.
The Jews didn't steal the land. They bought it and reclaimed it from desert and won it in wars that they did not start, and have consistently shown they are willing to share it with Arab Palestinians. It was the United Nations that decided to partition Palestine, and the Jews took what they were offered. The Palestinian Arabs were offered a state as well, but decided instead to attack the Jews and try and take it all. They lost that war, and have been attacking Israel ever since -- but somehow Israel is the bad guy here.
The Jews have as much right as anyone else to be there, and the window for the Palestinian people to have their own country is closing. Most Arab nations are tired of it, and it's clear that they don't really care about the Palestinian people at all. They were a convenient stick to beat the Jews with, but there are now bigger fish to fry, and Israel has shown it's not a thread to Arab countries that aren't a threat to them.
Mecca, learn the truth about the history of this conflict. I'm happy to answer any questions. I'm sure as soon as this is posted I'll be attacked as a liar, but notice that they won't be able to contradict one thing I say.
