2 Corinthians 4:4, "In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them."

1 John 5:19, "And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness."

There are literally hundreds of denominations, large and small, each claiming to be God's church. How does one find the right one?..
Long ago my Christian friends began inviting me to try out local churches and groups over the years but I never did find one I felt comfortable with, and always walked out early in the service.
My friends became used to it and found it highly amusing, and as I made my way to the exit I could hear them chuckling and saying "there he goes"..:)
Sometimes I walked out within a couple of minutes before the service had even begun, and a minister chased me down the street calling out "please come back"; it was like trying to escape from Colditz, but I was able to slip down a side street to shake him off and make a home run.

Hebrews 12:2, "Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God."

Philippians 2:10-11, "That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."

2 Peter 2:1-3, "But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed. By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction does not slumber."

Even some early Christian churches weren't making the grade, so Paul had to sort them out-
"I already gave you a warning when I was with you the second time. I now repeat it while absent: On my return I won't spare those who sinned earlier or any of the others" (2 Cor 13:2)

Yes,
"Ungodly men have slipped in among you" (Jude 4:4)
"If anyone preaches a perverted gospel they're accursed" (Gal 1:6-9)
"For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear" (2 Tim 4:3)
"Beware men who spoil you with enticing words, deceitful philosophy not after Christ" (Col 2:4-8 )
"Ignorant people distort things, to their own destruction" (2 Pet 3:16/17)

"Little children, let nobody lead you astray" (1 John 3:7)

Excerpts below from:

The third “temple” is, and ALWAYS has been, SPIRITUAL as it says repeatedly throughout Scriptures.

We need to purify our own temples through obedience to God (Deut. 30:15-20), discipline (the hallmark of Discipleship) and self-sacrifice (Luke 9:23; Gal. 2:20) to make them fit for spiritual habitation. Obedience and self-sacrifice are the pillars of God’s TRUE temple. Why do you think every body has a temple on either side of their head? So that God can dwell between them. How obvious does it have to be, before you “get it”?
