Seems like a big ole’ festival by day.
A drug dealers den by night.
I was thinking that it reminds me of something along the same lines, but this is technically no different than most Fourth of July celebrations I’ve been to. Parades and sparklers by day, parties after fireworks are for grown ups
Same thing with New Years, Mardi Gras, spring break in Florida, etc. after hours can be a completely different environment that is not entirely policed when there is a police force active.
I have actually been to several parties that were outside major city limits where there isn’t an active police station covering. There is already a lot of country in the us that is not policed because there is not a lot of people there. There have been people who grew pot and stored drugs in homes on the outskirts for years to avoid police.
a police station only exists when there is a population size to justify it. People who wanted to sell drugs or be involved in crime have already been able to work around this for years by avoiding larger cities.
And it is obviously going to devolve into some kind of party even if there are people trying to steer the thing with an agenda. They are outside with no real equipment or goals with a bunch of people that are meeting each other for the first time. People are going to be socializing a lot more than they are going to be organizing or doing anything productive. That’s just reality.
people are also going to have to go home at some point too because everyone didn’t up and leave all their belongings behind like the disciples did when they started following Jesus. This area is not becoming these people’s homes so it isn’t really all that different than many other events that we are familiar with in America already.
there is a reddit board called cap hill autonomous zone that is where I’m getting most of my information about this. There are a lot of locals from Seattle that seem to have a realistic perspective about this.
