One hell of a block party...

We've lost residents. We've lost small businesses': Neighbors say they 'don't think anyone has won' after Seattle police dismantle CHOP as 44 are arrested and clean-up continues
  • Police confirmed they arrested at least 44 people after taking back their precinct early Wednesday morning
  • As residents in the neighborhood watched from balconies, police cleared out the protesters from the zone
  • But one business owner said: 'I don't think anyone has won anything out of this I think we've actually lost'
  • The area remains closed to the public with only those who live and own businesses there allowed back in
  • Workers were left to clean up huge piles of trash and tents left behind by protesters as bulldozers moved in
  • 'I was just stunned by the amount of graffiti, garbage and property destruction,' Police chief Best said

Aaand curtain call...

maybe there is no other way to deal with problematic people..lol? idiocracy was exposed. the whole narrative was a bullshit. but it will continue. just like the deadly virus that only kills the elderly in nursing homes and is stopped with a mask. because the stupidity of human beings is endless.
The spirit of Chop will live on. What that spirit was, I don't really know. I wasn't there. It seems like Chop just had poor leadership, or wasn't very well thought out. Like I wouldn't want to take the reins, because the whole theory was flawed from the beginning. You can't have a cop free zone without some serious monetary investments.

There are always options beyond shooting people who act up. Do you lack empathy or something? Unless someone does something objectively terrible like murder or r*pe, they deserve a second chance. Nobody should be shot just for being "problematic".

Um..no..they were acting like the thugs they were...they are the ones that closed up a 6 block radius..which is illegal and held it for their own. They didn’t own that property..or the businesses there. They don’t own the residential areas either. It was never theirs to begin with...that’s illegal. What is also illegal is for the mayor to let them be. But..good on her..she got it back on her and LOOK how fast she shut them down then! Recall election..anyone?
Nobody cared about the "illegal protest" until people started getting shot. And a lot of that space is public property, as in it's paid for by the taxpayers. Plus the government takes people's property all the time.

The only people getting exposed here is the anti-chop folks. You are all clearly fine with state-sanctioned executions, and state-sanctioned property theft. When anyone else does it they are "thugs".

I’d say a lot of law abiding citizens cared a great deal about the illegal seizure of private property but a bunch of thugs...

No..they were actual thugs.

Eminent domain
eminent domain
noun
  • law : a right of a government to take private property for public use
Is that what you think the thugs did? Usually they give a little money..not enough granted..probably so they won’t be accused of thievery and thuggery. The chaz people are thieving thugs.

No Lisa. I find it hypocritical you have no issue when the government seizes people’sPersonal property and such a big issue here when people seize public property.

also zero problem with isreals illegal occupations

Like who? The talking heads over at Fox News?

I don't even care how big of hypocrites culture warriors are. I'm more concerned with the fact that culture warriors are trying to solve a fake problem. Or a problem that they themselves created. Like at best you are just chasing after a pro-government red herring.

I do have a problem with that..but this isn’t the same thing at all..those thugs weren’t going to use the place for anything for the public...just for their own personal use. AND its illegal.

Israel isn’t there illegally.

The keyword there the *city* is being sued. The city mishandled the whole thing and is the entity that should have known better or deployed the resources needed to solve the problem.

Chaz folks are just regular people who are fed up with the tyrannical system of laws. Plus protesters are expected to be rough around the edges, but I'm not going to sugarcoat anything. The crime was out of control for an area claiming not to need organized policing.

Like I said...thugs.

I find it interesting that it didn’t take any time at all for the city to dismantle it when the word was given. That disgusting mayor could have ended this the first day and no one would have died..people wouldn’t have had to live in fear, property wouldn’t have been destroyed or business closed. And..are there any one calling for a recall election on her?

The whole international community disagrees with you about the legality of Israel’s illegal occupation areas.

they were using it as a place to protest. Which is a public action. Being on a public sidewalk isn’t illegal. Erecting a barricade is probably a summary offense.

you downplayed eminent domain in your first post. It seems you actually had to google it to even see what it was. What’s wore screwed up- the government seizing private property for whatever half assed reason they may have (usually the enrichment of some corporation) OR citizens seizing a public space that their tax dollars go towards maintaining?

I know what eminent domain is..and I said I don’t agree with it..but you do get some compensation from the government when they take your stuff. What are the businesses going to get? Nothing..lucky they can open back up is all. What about the residents? Are they going to get compensation for the wrecking of their neighborhood...its gonna take a little time to scrub off all that graffiti.

They can disagree..but the Jews were given the land they are in first by God and then by the hand of God through the British. They can legally be there and there is nothing anyone can do about getting them out of there..but they will try.
