Hmmn I can possibly believe the part about jk and jm. At the same time people can say someone's stuck up or high maintenance for just being a serious individual that draws the line between being professional and casual. These personality descriptions given are all what we see and expect of them as observers...umm I think they are quite different from that behind the scenes.

Some of the things JK has done to earn him a description of stuck up and high maintenance: JK pushes himself physically to an extreme level during their performances. He has a track record of trying to perform when he's too injured or sick to do so. Some of these incidents have been filmed, and actually released by BH in an attempt to glorify what he does. Staff will try to convince him otherwise, but he won't listen to them. YG got fed up with him once, when he was trying to perform with an ankle injury, and he said to JK, "You either don't perform or you go out there with your ankle wrapped". This was after JK kept insisting he was fine when he really wasn't. JK sees himself as the best at everything, and I do think he does a lot of his extreme performing to show up everyone else. I don't think it is simple dedication or "professionalism" as his bandmates and BH call it.

Look at him during episodes of Run. He has to win everything. Even the most competitive members can accept losing. JK can't ever seem to let go of anything.

And this is why I say we really don't know these idols. If more armys had been interested in kpop groups outside of b*s, maybe they would have seen like I did that they all play a part. They all have the same recycled personalities..it's more obvious with girl groups since the character traits are narrowed down to about 3 lol. But still any fan will defend their idols to the death. And no one ever wonders why they are so sexy and intense on stage and big soft cuddly bears off?? Like every group (esp. boy group) is like this lmao.

Here's a fun kpop history lesson: The kpop we see today was primarily set in motion by SM Entertainment, with groups such as H.O.T. and S.O.S. It's evolved over time of course... but the general idea at that time was to copy Western pop groups such as Backstreet Boys, Spice Girls, and others who embodied what you said about everyone playing a role. In BSB, AJ was the edgy cool guy, Brian was the athlete, Kevin was the visual, Howie was the Latino/dancer guy, Nick was the heartthrob. Spice Girls were even worse when it came to personas! The marketing behind this is that you always know what to expect from these bands, aka the product. BSB don't use these personas anymore, and I watched a video of them recently and was like, who are these guys???

I think Bang Pedo is trying to be like Lou Pearlman. Looks alone, he's achieved that. I was thinking earlier, how could this dorky looking blob have been a popular artist at one point? But anyway, what Bang has done with BT5 is almost exactly what Lou Pearlman did in terms of creating BSB. That's not a script you want to follow. If anyone ever wonders why I question and am creeped out by PD, this is why.

Not sure how any of this prove jk's stuck up but high maintenance I can see. He would be hard to work with. Jk always came across to me as the type that has to be perfect at everything, people like that are hardest on themselves. Like if he didn't win something it would be the end of the world and he'd breakdown or end up in a very foul mood for probably days. And I do see where he has to out perform his members. Like here in this run episode he just couldn't fail. You can see how seriously he's taking a stupid challenge.

This was very interesting, thanks for sharing. I didn't know a lot of this! I grew up with the Spice Girls, N'sync, backstreet boys and I definitely see what you said about Kpop copying the 90s girl/boy bands.

One reason I liked watching run episodes that about them playing physical sports/activities cuz you kinda get to see their real personalities

most men are super competitive about sports/games and they are no different

He scares me too. Jk has the nickname of himbo among more self aware fans. He's sort of a meathead. Cute but not that smart. Jm is attention seeking more not a bad person. Rm thinks he's smarter than everyone and will talk down to people he thinks don't know what they're talking about.

I'm sorry the part about jk cracked me up. "Meathead" haha. That's what I've heard as well..basically your standard muscle bound man wh*re that is allergic to books. And I can see that with jm. He seems nice but unstable..and rm cracks me up too with his corny philosophical dribble about slow walks in the morning with misty dew on the grass and birds singing in the trees.
