Ramones on Sire records too. I don't think anyone can claim Ramones were into any evil stuff besides sniffing glue and being sedated lol. You had to be careful when you went to see the Ramones. If you went to the bathroom you could miss their set as it was only about 25 minutes. They all dead now anyway and if they sold their souls they got a pretty low price considering how hard they worked.

Madonna was also signed with Sire Records, so considering she was signed with that record label like they were, couldn't that mean there was also something sinister going on with Ramones, even though it wasn't very obvious what it was with them?

Well I doubt Madonna ever associated with the Ramones but Debbie Harry hung out with them.

Have you found out any information on Debbie Harry, that's worthy of being skeptical of?
She did an 'Invocation to Papa Legua'. Papa Legua is a Haitian occult voodoo god. "Papa Legba is the gatekeeper of the spirit world, as well as the god of travel, opportunity and luck."
The same Papa Legua also on the Talking Heads True Stories album/film. Curiously he also appears as a villain in American Horror Story.
These industry people are obsessed with voodoo for some reason.

Yes, he certainly has a hyperfixation on buildings, factories, cities, highways and infrastructure in general. I guess I just assumed it was his 'special interest' (You know one of those intense obsessions us aspies tend to have) or that he had some unrealized passion to be an architect. I guess the guy did design bike racks in NYC and set up a 'playable building'.

To add to your list, there's also "I'm Dreaming of a city, it was my own invention, I put the wheels in motion" from What a Day That Was.

This song was from the soundtrack he did for his friend's dance project movie 'The Catherine Wheel' but immortalized by its inclusion in the 'Stop Making Sense' canon. It has quite interesting lyrics about lightning bolts and '50 thousand beggars roaming in the streets' but I'd need to watch that movie to understand the context.
Man don't even get me started on 'Heaven' though, would you say it's like the Talking Heads edition of Lennon's 'Imagine'?
I suppose it's not quite as... sinister. Imagine has those creepy sacharine Tower of Babel Own Nothing Be Happy NWO ivory tower 'utopian vision' undertones whereas Heaven just sounds like a tired, emotionally numb but edgy Reddit atheist who is mocking religious ideals of an afterlife to me. I've also heard people say it's about a gay bar in the UK.
When I see comments like this though it does seem rather sinister to me as a Christian.

Byrne has quite the insight when it comes to coding in 'his beliefs' to everyday mundane things whether it be architecture, books, automobiles or food. I guess the question we 'might ask is what have cars got to do with books' or architecture with food?

I did post part of the lyrics from what a day that was, i did forget 'the dream police' which i'll come back to. In Twyla Tharp's dance routine i believe during What a Day the dancers are supposed to be 'angelic' beings. In the Wembley Arena version, if i remember correctly, it shows an old home made movie reel of some mundane family Christmas, but in sms the lighting around the eyes and mouth give it a distinctly demonic feel (they also use similar lighting in Swamp from the WA concert) i guess if you can combine all 3 you might get a better understanding of what the song is about.

Speaking of Swamp. In the sms video, if the song is about selling your soul, then Byrne is not the seller...he is the buyer. If you look closely his hair is kind of subtly reptillian and he has the Keyser Soze limp although his limp is more of a drag almost snake like in the way he drags it along the floor.

David Lynch: We Live inside a dream.

David Byrne:
Everyone has the same dreams
On different days of the week
We are the watchdogs of your mind
We are the dream police.

Still from Twin Peaks Black Lodge.

Still from Dream Operator, True Stories.

Still from Swamp sms.

Also notice the TinTin esque hair on Cooper ;)

I might bow out now as i'm starting to wander onto a path i don't feel at all comfortable on. I hope i have given you some decent ideas...just be careful though it's a very slippery (people) path that's not easy to get off.

Edit; Just checked Swamp and Byrne has definite devil horns, the one on the right as you look is more easy to identify.

Ah, I see you have quoted What a Day That Was, not sure how I missed it! So sorry.
Yeah I get the vibe that he may be a 'Handler' or 'Buyer' as you said. He runs a record label called 'Luaka Bop', I haven't really looked into it but the symbol is a human heart with an eye which is reminiscent of his Rei Momo album with his eyes peering through the holes of a human heart.
Possible link to the 'voodoo sacrifice' allegation? It was in Brazil and his label specialises in South American artists I believe.
Anyway I am blown away with all your posts every time, if I may ask, how do you have all this insight about Byrne and Talking Heads? I am curious what your connection is with them since I don't believe I asked. For me I was especially intrigued after seeing that prediction of food and gas shortages and government surveillance and trying to interpret his lyrics and knew there was a deep rabbit hole waiting to be investigated.
He and his band mates have mentioned using acid (LSD) before, which was famously used in MK Ultra operations. There's that famous quote where Byrne is introducing his movie and says 'It's like 60 minutes on acid". The song And She Was (another one to deep dive) was allegedly about Byrne's friend who would trip acid in front of an abandoned factory building. Do you reckon this was pointing to the sort of drug (namely LSD) use found in MK Ultra? Or were they just art students messing around with drugs for purely recreational and 'Creative enhancement' purposes? Curiously Frank Zappa, another member of that Yeti subgenius cult allegedly had a 'no drugs' policy and was against taking illicit substances for 'Creative enhancement' or any other excuse and was one of the most creative artists of all time. Sorry I have so many questions but you seem to be the only one here who knows so much about Talking Heads and David Byrne so I thought it would make sense to ask.

Well, Zappa was indeed drug free, BUT, he made sure that the circle of loonies around him were deep into drug consumption. In this sense, he was a real ringmaster. He wanted to have total control of the people around him. He was highly talented of course, BUT, he was one of the most evil musicians ever. He was in command of the GTOs dance troupe (among them you would find Pamela Des Barres, Jim Morrison's girlfriend), he was co-operating with the "hippie" Father Vito Paulekas (another evil personality in Laurel Canyon) and don't forget he was the mastermind behind Captain Beefheart's band,a bunch of destroyed acid heads who were under the spell of Beefheart. Interesting facts about Zappa - his father was involved in the making of the Napalm bomb (he was a chemist who worked for -who else - the government and the military) and, another weird fact, his wife Gail Zappa was a in the same kindergarten with Jim Morrison, not in LA though, but in Florida or somewhere close to it. Isn't it a great coincidence that these two kids were many years later operating in the same geographical location,on the other side of the US ? Allegedly, when they were in this kindergarten, she hit Jim on the head with an iron bar ! And how funny it is that the fathers of two of the most iconic artists of the 60s, were deeply involved with the tragic war in Vietnam.

Could be. personally though i think the Remain In Light album cover is similar to Rei Momo i guess its a matter of better graphics in 89 than 80. But that's just my opinion.

Well i don't really have a great deal of insight. I think if you want to understand what these people are saying you would need to be initiated into the 'mysteries' of whatever religion/cult they have. I guess my aspie brain just picks up on some things other people might miss. How i got into them i'm not really sure. I guess i heard Remain In Light in its entirety and got blown away.

And She Was is a strange song. I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with LSD though, but since reading your comment i was reminded that byrne wrote a song called drugs...only it wasn't it was actually called electricity which by some strange coincidence is a theme (electricity) in Twin Peaks and David Lynch work in general. I guess though on the other side of that the band probably did take LSD...or at least the Tom Tom Club did as well as cocaine. As for the song And She Was the part of the video where Byrne is on the phone i suspect the phone represents the initiated and Byrne covers his mouth while talking to represent that he's concealing from the uninitiated the true meaning. He predicts his oscar win in the video but the oscar is out of shape for an oscar and it appears to have breasts which probably means that it has been granted to him in an 'unnatural' way via the help of a goddess. That's how i read it anyway.

Here's a scene from Twin Peaks that might help you know what to look for or how to look.

I should mention regarding the video that they dont explain the Blue Rose in that scene but in s03 we find that Blue Rose is not found in nature and therefore points to a spiritual element.

Tom Tom Club. 'As Above So Below' Lyrics

Hold the symbol to your forehead
Close your eyes
Call the spirit of the symbol
Come to me
Call the symbols of the golden age
One by one
Call the water, fire, air and earth
Come to me
As above, so below
As above, so below
As above, so below
As above, so below
Behold the door appears before you
Walk on through
Observe the doorway now behind you
Look ahead
Call the spirit of the symbol
Come to me
Allow the deity to guide you
Follow me
As above, so below
As above, so below
As above, so below
As above, so below
A web of thought; of tangled vision
Humanity
Tear away the veil before me
Set me free
Tales to picture that you give to me
Memory
Tear away the minds that bind me
Liberty
As above, so below
As above, so below
As above, so below
As above, so below
Thank the spirit of the symbol
Once you see
Raise your finger to your lips now
Sign of Silence
Find the doorway of the symbol
Pass on through
Find the doorway of the symbol
Pass on through
As above, so below
As above, so below
As above, so below
As above, so below

Judging by the lyrics is the song about summoning demons?
