Up All Night was about an actual baby and just wanting to play with them because they are cute. Thats what I got out of it anyways lol. I am intrigued by the Epstein reference... we should look deeper into that!

I forgot to mention this though, but I made a recent discovery that David Byrne's daughter Malu is actually secretly lowkey based. I looked on her Instagram and found her following accounts like Awaken With JP, Zuby Music and Project Veritas. A bleeding heart globohomo ESG ducksicking crony-corpo-commie-fiddlestick-cultist who think 1 millimiter right of Trotsky is Hitler wouldn't be caught dead following those. THERE IS HOPE! She's one to pray for and so is her little toddler, Bo.
I pray for her actually and I feel fer her too. I did some research and apparently she and her mother were abandoned by David Byrne after the award ceremony in 2002 at the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame Induction (Which was the last time Talking Heads performed together) when he decided after the award ceremony "It's time to move on" and just left them like that without even responding to her mother's worried phone calls. I think Malu would have been maybe 12 years old at the time.
If my father did that, I'd probably develop opposing views to him as well because the outcome of a relationship is the fruits of a philosophy underlying that relationship.

So they are under no illusions of what Hollywood was like in the past for young performers and their mother's experiences. Lets also not forget Drew Barrymore, who is right up there with Tinseltown's biggest hellraisers. She did pretty much everything under the sun. It's a miracle she got to fifty with some semblance of sanity. A lesser person would have been dead before twenty five. Unlike other walking disaster areas she had to start at the bottom to rebuild her career after the chaos that was her childhood.

I am surprised no one has ever mentioned The Runaways. Their song Dead End Justice off their first album is still relevant today.

They were more proto-Punk than New Wave eh?
There was also this type of stuff from the 80's... I dont know if it classifies as actual New Wave, but I find it interesting for a number of reasons. It was essentially White people Electro-Funk (which both influenced and was also influenced by the urban Hip-Hop/Club/Dance tracks and scene of the day) and also had wide acceptance in the lgbt-community. So in certain respects, it broke a lot of rules and crossed a lot of genre-boundaries.

Depeche mode in 80s was called "alternative music" albeit well known & always on the top 40 countdown, their concerts aways sold out even in small towns. Now that I'm older, I see I missed the "Violator" and "black Celebration" &"playing the angel" album Luci symbolism. Other albums include:

Excitor, (S-x)
DELTA MACHINE, (mk)
Sounds of the Universe, (his instruments)
Memento Mori (the inevitability of death.)
Speak and Spell, (God made earth spoken into existence)
A broken Frame, (music frame or physical? )
& ...Music for the Masses (wordplay on his fallen angel chief choir Church Mass task/ former job in Heaven).
