This is incorrect. I consulted a calculator which confirmed this. Let me break it down for you.
Let's just say you had just purchased 42 bananas, there was a sale on so you stocked up. So you now have 42 bananas.
You call up a friend inviting him over to enjoy some bananas at your place but he tells you that he had also purchased 42 bananas. So you both have 42 bananas.
So at this point you and your friend are both in the same banana boat with 42 bananas each because from a mathematical perspective.....
42 = 42
So after a chat he decides to come down to your house, he was going to bring his bananas down so you would both have 42 bananas each to enjoy.
Now on arrival your friend asks to visit the toilet, he leaves his bag of bananas on your table and goes for a discreet poo. You get a bit curious about his banana bag and quickly count how many bananas your friend brought to your banana party.
To your utter fury you discover your friend has only brought 16 of his bananas to your banana party. The cheeky bastard! he would obviously be expecting half of your bananas which would equal 21 but only brought 16 of his own. How is that fair? He thinks you must be stupid because mathematically...
42 does not equal 16
In utter disgust at your friends shenanigans you start throwing his bananas at him as he exits your toilet. In total you throw 11 of his 16 bananas at him leaving him with just 5 bananas.
So the current situation after all the banana throwing and lies is you have 42 bananas and your friend has 5.
How long would you allow your friend to try and convince you that he should stay at your banana party because his 5 bananas have the same value as your 42 bananas?
I'm sure at this point you would NOT be making the argument that....
42 = 16-5
