Idk I mean I don’t honestly think the public gets to decide anyways bc the media obviously can run whatever numbers they want on tv and say it was a popular vote, plus I don’t think the president really has any power they’re simply a fall guy, BUT assuming there is some justice in the world my theory would be that they wanted to shut down any chance he had of winning lol. He was killed because people rejected the truth that He is God in human form , at the cross He took upon all the sins of the world so that we could have life eternally in heaven and to be free from the shackles of sin and its consequences, death and hell ,ultimately separation from our God who loves us so dearly that He gave up His own life for us so that we could live eternally in heaven when we die , also He resurrected showing how powerful and mighty He is to.have overcome death and to prove He is God.
Also you're misinterpreting the whole purpose of Christianity its has never been and will never be a death cult , it is the truth that brings people to the realisation of God's love and much more wonderful things.
