Amazing!
There are atheistic Satanists. In fact, I am one.Is that a baphomet and pentagram sign he is sporting?
Living to appease your flesh and wholly dedicate your existence to indulging in your carnal lusts aye? That is essentially what Laveyan Satanism is. It is exaltation of the lower self or the embracing of the carnal nature within man...
Yes, Laveyan Satanists are also occultists. We believe it is a way to focus the subconcious mind on our goals, nothing more.Living to appease your flesh and wholly dedicate your existence to indulging in your carnal lusts aye? Lavey was an actual Satanist though. He performed rituals and occult practices...
Lavey taught to embrace and not be ashamed of mans primitive carnal instincts. He believed they should not be inhibited, but rather released....Yes, Laveyan Satanists are also occultists. We believe it is a way to focus the subconcious mind on our goals, nothing more.
Yes, no worries, I know what he taught. I know you disagree. I believe man is not better or superior to animals.Lavey taught to embrace and not be ashamed of mans primitive carnal instincts. He believed they should not be inhibited, but rather released....
I used to live that way. The more I indulged in sin and sought to gratify my own passions the more miserable in life I was. Eventually you have to suppress your own conscience...Yes, no worries, I know what he taught. I know you disagree. I believe man is not better or superior to animals.
Performing rituals doesn't mean you're a Satanist though. Or that you believe in what you're working with. Chaos magicians often invoke fictional beings because of what they represent metaphysically, despite knowing they aren't real. There's also Christian witches. They are seen as heretical though.Living to appease your flesh and wholly dedicate your existence to indulging in your carnal lusts aye? That is essentially what Laveyan Satanism is. Not quite. I went from a Christian upbringing to this, because I found the Bible deeply problematic. Following my own inner voice as opposed to Christianity has freed my consience instead of repressed it.I used to live that way. Yet the reality for most Christians is that you are still miserable and still having to deal with such "passions" because you do not have a healthy way of dealing with them. Also your framing of that is not correct. What you meant to say as "the more I indulged in what Christianity and other Abrahamic religions refer to as 'Sin' ".The more I indulged in sin and sought to gratify my own passions the more miserable in life I was.

I claimed to be a Christian in my early years. Renounced it altogether and affiliated as an atheist. Then I got saved almost 10 years ago and gave my life to Christ.I'm interested to know if you were born a Christian or not?
If you say so. In the summer before I came to Christ years ago I was unemployed and spent months at home. All I did was watch porn, drink alcohol, play video games, smoke cigarettes, eat junk food, and listen to degenerate music. That's the whole premise of Laveyan Satanism where the chief end of life is to gratify mans carnality and indulge in his most primal lower self passions without inhibition. I didnt feel free. In fact the longer I lived that way the more my conscience would speak to the emptiness and futility of such a life. The only way I could have continued to live like that is through suppressing my own conscience and lying to myself. There is more freedom in a life not ruled by sin and carnality than a life dictated by sin. That's why celebrities are some of the most depressed people out there. Their Laveyan Satanism lifestyle brings them to ruin and emptiness....Not quite. I went from a Christian upbringing to this, because I found the Bible deeply problematic. Honestly you sound like you were an addict. Most of what you mentioned are generally addictions for most people who usually have a weak will and inability to control their urges. If you say so. Porn and Alcohol can definitely hit a person quite bad if they don't have serious moderation, both can do damage to your head. Porn is not sex either, sex is an entirely different thing altogether as it is a physical act involving people, and not pixels on a screen.
For porn it's stuff like seritonin and dopamine, alcohol has it's overlap. Both rob the body and do lead to problems with emotional and mental health if left unchecked. For an average person who is also more of a social person, the occasional porn and social drink can be acceptable regarding the health of the body but over excess of theses things is not good, no.
It's obviously far more beneficial that someone addicted to porn should make friends and get a partner. And that someone who drinks alcohol should replace it with something less hard on the head.
Cigarettes are just bad anyway you look at it.
Music on the other hand is more of an ideological issue and is not related in the same way. Really aggressive and violent music can actually have very therapeutic effects on listeners, increasingly moreso if you're a musician or a singer. Art is very much a different thing.
Why exactly? you didn't sound very free, you sounded quite imprisoned by addiction. You should be applauding me for my old life.
You're making really stupid false equivalences.Afterall I lived a life free of religious dogma and didnt adhere to the egotistical gluttonous doctrines of Christianity. Back then I wasnt brainwashed by the concept of sin.
I currently dont live that way. Didnt require any treatment or rehab of any sort. I just stopped doing those things...Why exactly? you didn't sound very free, you sounded quite imprisoned by addiction.

You created an incentive for yourself, which of various forms, is what you are supposed to do. However it does also lean towards the common reality of people using religion as an emotional and psychological crutch as a way of trying to gain control over themselves.Ill let you be the judge and determine whether I(an addict) just up and stopped on my own power without any treatment or if Jesus set me free by the power of the holy ghost.
