interesting to see you care about r*pe at a party. I did mention it already by not mentioning it. I said the police would take people to the hospital and arrest people with drugs. You know how many people go to jail for r*pe on a regular day right?

you do, you’re just trying to capitalize on something like this when it’s convenient. Like I said, you haven’t been to a lot of parties. It seems like you have been to a lot of beauty shops where you have spent a lot of time gossiping about people because it was fun and that is again why your post is more like a gossip column.

now, disclaimer, I’m writing this quickly as there are nuances that I’m not addressing that I don’t have time for.

but in general, it doesn’t matter In terms of discussing this with you further. Basically, we can conclude our discussion by finding out whether you have ever been to Seattle or whether you are in Seattle now. If you haven’t and you are not in Seattle right now, then I really don’t care what you have to say. I’m not interested in your gossip about a variety of things you have no personal experience with and no ability to understand.
Like, who ARE you? You post these weird long diatribes about CHAZ/CHOP being this “normal” place and it just ISN’T! WHO IN HELL ARE YOU!?

I think you need to reread my first post that you responded to. Like I said, there is some overlap in this community that is shared between the protestors and the police. Hence, the fact that there is a woman who is black (which seems redundant to say after the many times you have pointed this out already) who is acting as police chief.

So there is evidence of significant cultural change in a community that seems to be elevating the objective of cultural change, probably because they see cultural change as a good thing to try to achieve since having a police chief who is black and a woman has proven to be a good thing.

I also already said the perception that this autonomous zone is creating more change is also exaggerated in some ways too, which is why I compared it to a party, and any change that is taking place is probably because there are many things that are shared in the center of this community that are getting lost in polarized discussions that you are perpetuating.

it is also really offensive to see you say black woman the way you did so many times. I support both sides of the black community to a certain extent when it comes to things like this because I realize they are not a monolithic unit. I’m sure this woman has a great deal of integrity and is doing the best she can with what she knows about how to handle the unknowns of this situation. I just think people like yourself are the problem and most of your comments are more like gossip in an attempt to stir the pot.

there is actually a proverb about this. “Without wood a fire goes out; without a gossip a quarrel dies down.” Proverbs 26:20.

this is an important verse in my life when it comes to media. A lot of the media is gossip we would all be better off without. The right is just as guilty of this as the left can be. Something to think about.
People like you are the problem.

when these calls are made at parties, most of the time nothing happens unless someone needs to go to the hospital or they have drugs on them. Then they get arrested. Otherwise, the police basically just tell people to go home in situations like this, which they are unable to do and so what.
In this assumption-laden screed, you come across like you have no life experience to speak of and get your "facts" from a box of cracker jacks.

And here we have a perfect example of the hypocrisy of the left, and how SJWs cannot help but reveal their ineptitude when self-righteously projecting their subconscious onto others.

More self-righteousness. @rainerann we cannot even call what you post, "gossip." Your posts appear to arise from the fantasies of a leftist utopian wet dream.

**Keep in mind: You cannot change the meaning of "libertarian" to mean "social justice warrior." (FYI, whoever told you the meaning of "libertarian" was lying to you).

Hasn’t happened yet..but I would bet all decent people in that area would be happy to not have them ruling over them anymore...I’m sure they weren’t won over by the lawless acts in their neighborhood.

lol I’m being called a leftist. It is true that the world has been divided into teams that people can’t see past. People are a very fickle group.

your post makes you sound like I just said the cowboys were going to win the super bowl and you were a raiders fan or something very puffed up, arrogant, and meaningless towards anything based on reality.

the hypocrisy of everyone who assumes someone is either right or left because they have categorized the positions they take towards the news to mean that they are right or left.

I’ve been here for a while. I think at some point, you have even liked some things I have posted that we’re about economic or political subjects, but I was really just a closet sjw then... really libertarian doesn’t mean anything that is defined. It is one of the reasons that libertarians even say it would be hard to make a movement.

I think this means that being a libertarian means I think for myself and I’m not going to join your club where we all have the same opinion towards every situation that is intentionally the opposite of what we consider to be the opinion of the enemy liberal. That is where you have to check yourself to make sure that you are not letting injustice passed your radar because of the social groupings politics creates.

humility towards what is taking place in the world is going to lead you to support things outside of the lines created by media. So I just don’t always have to agree with anything in order to be right or left like the handful of diehards around here like yourself, who will literally call me an sjw for a couple of posts. It is just the most ridiculous thing

I’m sorry that you either struggle to think for yourself or have such an inflated ego, that you are unable to approach any subject with this kind of humility or try to find what would be right in the situation rather than what would keep me aligned to the social divisions created by media. I also think that the right has no real vision to support anymore. They are basically crashing and burning by their own arrogance quite frankly. This situation highlights that reality very well. They can’t let go of the right/ left boundaries even if it makes them a hypocrite.

I have always said I didn’t like abuse of power and Centralizing power, etc. many of these things have always been areas where I agreed with people on the right. If I agreed to avoid being an “sjw” to continue in this club, I would technically be making myself a hypocrite at this point.

It’s all rather sad really. I will pray for god to soften your heart and bless you with more love towards others and thank you for the sjw award. I will add it to my collection of labels I have gotten for being generally conservative otherwise. My trophy cabinet did need some variety. :)

have a wonderful day!!!!

Yeah chop still doesn’t sound like an uprising that has separated itself from the us or any of the nonsense that people were saying about it. People have been giving the impression that the people there had so much power now. They just had too much power and were going to basically take over the state by now.

from the Seattle times

“CHOP was created after Seattle police abandoned the East Precinct building, following nearly two weeks of hostile standoffs between police and protesters, which frequently ended with police firing tear gas and other nonlethal weapons to try to disperse crowds.

Meanwhile, pressure has been building on political leaders from some residents and workers on Capitol Hill who expressed frustration at the weekend’s violence and lack of action by city officials. Some said they believe the original intent of the protests — to end institutional racism at the hands of government, and specifically the police — had been “hijacked” by what one woman called the “activism industry.”

“The message of Black Lives Matter is being exploited,” said the woman, a 25-year resident of Capitol Hill who, fearing retaliation, would only give her name as Lisa. (As she spoke, a man was setting up a table selling “Black Lives Matter” T-shirts).

It’s not a street fair,” she said. “It’s disheartening. There’s a lack of integrity.”

the more serious supporters of blm seem to not like chaz becoming a “street fair.”

“Shifting the protests away from evening hours mirrors changes sought by some protesters themselves.

Some organizers affiliated with the protest zone distributed an unsigned letter Sunday calling for “suggested” CHOP hours of 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. to encourage the area “to stop being a chaotic, immobile zone” in the overnight hours, though their plan called for some people to remain through the night.”

they are thinking of making hours and some of the people there who don’t go to the night parties, support this.

gosh and there was nothing mentioned about this spreading across the state or becoming a threat to even one more police station.

that’s funny, but I’m sure that’s still coming though so beware everybody. Beware. It’s not over yet. The liberals still have to be conquered completely before anyone can rest. You never know what they might do.

All I heard about was noise complaints. Of course there was a shooting recently. But beyond that it hasn't been a hotbed of crime.

The chief of police thought differently..

Seattle Police Chief: ‘We’re Not Able to Get to’ 911 Calls for ‘r*pe, Robbery’ in Autonomous Zone

Frustrated residents near Seattle's 'CHOP' zone want their neighborhood back

Srujan and his fiancée live in a building that borders Cal Anderson Park, which has been packed with protesters for weeks.
"We're not even here most of the time. I'm scared to live here. It's just not conducive," he said. "What you want from a home is a stress-free environment. You want to be able to sleep well, you want to feel comfortable and we just don't feel comfortable right now."
So the couple is leaving the area for now. They’ll stay with family for the next week.

Their complaints aren’t unique – we’ve received emails from many that say they have real concerns about living inside or near the Capitol Hill Organized Protest Zone – many asking to remain anonymous.
Some residents and business owners have expressed concerns about their safety and security in an area that demonstrators want to be police-free. But Seattle police said officers will still respond to “significant life-safety issues” in the area.

It is not a matter of what you think libertarian means or how you choose to define it.

Your posts lean far to the left, making you sound like a leftist, so it’s confusing...
it actually doesn’t lean far to the left unless you consider opposing centralizing power and rejecting abuse of power to be leftist positions.

everyone basically defines libertarian the way they want from what I’ve seen. i don’t think you have been around many libertarians.

when I have disagreed with the left and the subject of communism entirely, it was primarily about the objective of centralizing power which leads to an abuse of power.

I’m really a very quiet person, and I have no real reason to encounter police on a regular basis. i have been pulled over and they were pretty harsh with me about something silly, which I would otherwise like to keep private.

but otherwise, I don’t have any knowledge of police protocols or encounters from experience since I was a teenager. I didn’t know about the immunity they are given. I didn’t know about police unions or the arsenal of weapons.

I didn’t know a lot of things that I have learned from these discussions and learning them makes me realize that trying to maintain a status within a political perspective is the same thing as making myself a hypocrite in this case.

This current situation is not like some of the former situations that seemed silly where everyone was
debating and taking a side when someone had given an opinion of someone else’s opinion on social media even though some people did take this very seriously. That was speech and this is obviously something a little more serious.

so like I said, thank you for the leftist label. I will wear it proudly, but I really think you should rethink whether my posts make me sound like a leftist. it makes it seem like you have a very tribal view towards politics.

I am just basically choosing to not support the centralized power of the police and still being conservative about defining a conspiracy. It is still early to say how this could be orchestrated if it is and so I’m choosing to see how the most average person involved is looking at this situation right now. From that perspective, I don’t see the big deal and I don’t support the centralized power of the police overall. Not really the way I have seen leftist described in the past but if you want to call me a leftist, I don’t care.

The link to the first article doesn't work. I was hoping to see some evidence of all the alleged criminal activity.

The second link works but also falls short of proving any of the blatant exaggerations you are promoting.

There was no evidence. She posted it a week ago. No tabulation of how many calls or if the number of calls was more or less then usual or even the nature of calls. Nothing, just a throw away statement.

I figured as much.

I heard reports that police response time to the area was slower. But that could be for any number of reasons.

The same woman had to retract earlier claims about the people in Chaz extorting local business owners for protection money, because it just wasn’t true. So much propaganda and fear mongering.. on all sides tbh and it’s ridiculous.

Libertarian is word traditionally related to the far-left; specifically market socialists and anarchists. It's only in the 20th century that it's taken to be a more right-wing, pro-"free" market stance.
