I’ve been thinking about this in comparison to the history of polio. We don’t have a vaccine for polio to prevent death by polio entirely. We have a vaccine primarily to prevent paralysis by polio.

Wikipedia says that polio paralyzed or killed 500,000 per year for about 10 years. This really seems like it is leaning in the direction of being comparable with the history of polio rather than flu.

A study was done that says around 1 in 5 are at risk of severe infection due to a preexisting condition like diabetes or something else that has been linked to contributing to a more severe condition. This is not to be confused with 1 in 5 people are at risk of death, but statistics show that there are a lot of people with pre existing conditions that are linked to the coronavirus.

the chronic outcomes in severe cases seem comparable to the outcome of paralysis in the case of polio.

the good news is that this also helps in the objective of isolating more at risk groups. It is not such a random picture anymore.

This thing seems to feast on diabetics. That's the one comorbidity I would not want to have in regard to corona. Another thing that bugs me is how it's said that the victim had this or that comorbidity. So what? They could have lived for years with that alone, but not with that and corona. Which in the end does make corona their cause of death. But if it is indeed primarily a blood vessel disease, that would make a lot of sense with the diabetics and high blood pressure cases being at more risk, as well as with the clotting problems and strokes.

Defunding the police would mean that they wouldn’t be agents of intervention in a situation like this to begin with, where they are completely and entirely unnecessary.

Americans need to change behavior because COVID-19 will last well into 2021 without magic bullet vaccine, health experts warn - as cases and hospitalizations continue to surge to record highs across Sun Belt states

Fauci to the rescue? From what I see everytime I go to the grocery store..the majority of people won’t have to threatened to take a vaccine for this.
Dr Fauci says the US does not need further lockdowns to bring Covid-19 under control and reveals he is 'optimistic' the world will soon have a vaccine after 'encouraging' trials

O dear! Maybe the virus doesn’t attack the French as much as it attacks Americans? Or even black Americans? ;)

l'amour is not dead! French actors start kissing again on set as the nation's film industry restarts production
  • France's culture minister Franck Riester gave the green-light to actors on Friday
  • He said that while filming restarted earlier this month, actors kissing had to wait
  • 'No, the kiss is not over with,' the politician said when asked if kissing in movies could die out because of the coronavirus pandemic and social distancing

No they don’t..God said it wasn’t good for man to be alone..

Study: Lonely People Have ‘Disconnected’ Patterns of Brain Activity
HANOVER, N.H. — In the midst of a global pandemic and widespread social distancing, many of us may be feeling some degree of loneliness. Not sure where you fall on that scale? A new study suggests that scientists can actually tell whether you are lonely or not by looking at your brain activity.

AMC makes a U-turn and says patrons WILL have to wear face masks in theaters - one day after declaring they wanted to let local governments decide to avoid being caught up in 'political controversy'

4000 positive tests in Florida in one day. Pro baseball players testing positive in Florida. 23 Clemson football players testing positive, including the possible best player in the country. It's not looking so good for the return of sportsball this year...

Americans regret lack of emergency savings during pandemic

Maybe if we tell them younger people get it too..but it’s probably just the black population ;)
Coronavirus is infecting more young people in their 20s and 30s in the South: Health officials say there has been a 'radical shift' as cases continue to spike in Florida, South Carolina, Texas and other southern states
