Haha the source code for the shitty program that predicted 500k UK deaths from Covid19 has been released on Github. As a software programmer I often look at Github repositories, mostly for 3D graphics rendering code though.

I looked at some of it and most of the code seems to be formatting and processing inputs and outputs. It uses a basic stochastic model which does not seem to do much that is complicated. Also, it is a fucking mess, one could wonder how anyone could learn anything from such horrible coding practices.

John Carmack, the creator of the Doom and Quake PC games even worked on it, what a weird association, but it was written in C like those games so I can see why.
