You do realize that in New York alone, there have already been almost 20,000 deaths. The US as a whole reported 34,000 deaths due to flu last year. Hopefully, New York won't reach that number by June, but you never know at this point. Most people didn't think they would get close to 20,000 to begin with. I didn't think they would get to 20,000 when this all started.
Polls show that the majority of people are not going to join the empty protests that serve no real purpose because the average person is more cautious before running out into the streets with brazen confidence that it won't have a negative effect on someone else. Maybe there is also a reason you don't see any healthcare workers joining the protests so they can fight for their right to go out to eat at a restaurant after work because most people realize that you should be a little more cautious to go join empty protests when there is no way to prove that more people won't end up dying because of things like this.
It is amazing how callous people can be and it was a really good point that the protest should work in reverse. If there was ever something that you really wanted to change about your working conditions, now would be a good time to pursue these things, but that isn't what people are doing. They basically want the freedom to buy a blanket that was made in the same factory as a blanket covered in small pox. I mean, just because it was in the same factory, doesn't prove that they will get small pox too if they buy it right?
If you look at the number of tests being done per million people in the US, the number of deaths could be higher. The ignorance of the real count might be a sort of bliss at the moment, but it isn't going to help us get back to normal. The reality is that you can't prove it wouldn't be higher any more than I can prove it would. And since nothing can be proven either way until more tests are done, it is stupid to go protesting a partial quarantine. No one is even under a full quarantine in this country. It is absolutely absurd.
Here is where you could look to find out how many tests have been done in each state along with drone footage of what looks to be a mass grave and people burying many people in plain pine boxes. The number of tests being done are incredibly low, but these people aren't protesting for a legitimate way to ensure that people are safe to return to work. They are basically only demonstrating a profound level of ignorance towards the reality that life is really this fragile. If no one has ever told you this, that is the truth. Life is fragile and a lot of people could die and things could get back to normal quicker if more people were tested rather than having more people get in their trucks and yell at healthcare workers that they should go to China if they want communism as though the implementation of quarantine has ever had anything to do with the ideological system of communism.
