Why do you suppose China and Iran responded so terribly to the outbreak? Both denied that anyone was getting sick, and China went as far as silencing anyone who said differently. If this was a biological attack, why did they act so criminally bad in response?

RE: Water. I guess it depends on where you live.. the water quality.. and if you have a Britta or something like that. Also ppl have been conditioned for years to forgo tap and buy instead. But some tap water is bad. For an extreme example of this: All of Detroit's water has been poisoned by lead for years and the government refuses to fix it

Detroit, Flint etc are understandable in needing to buy water.

Oh, that’s just the rank stupidity. I’ve been watching people lined up to buy insane amounts of the stupidest things. There’s no reason to it. People are just compelled to be buying something.

This is what I have been watching for and expecting:

Among the powers Feinen gained after signing the executive order was the power to ban the sale of guns, ammunition, alcohol, and gasoline. Feinen could also cut off access to individuals' gas, water, or electricity. The city also has the ability to "take possession of private property" or order the temporary closing of all bars or liquor stores.

Suggestion- we should withdraw a big dollop of our money out of the bank while we still can, before we find the banks doors shut in our faces and the cash machines shut down in time of a "National Emergency".
After all, banks have been closed from time to time in the past for various reasons like this one..

Apparently bars in major cities were packed tonight. It doesn’t make sense that people are freaking out about catching THD, but are also out and about, just like nothing is going on

I’m seeing a lot of tweets about little or no screening at Canadian airports, despite the Trudeau government insisting there are layers of protection around us.

I am pretty convinced the death rate is around 1%, so if 70% of Americans catch it, that’s 2.3 million dead.

In Canada, it’s 260,000. The UK is 460,000.

Without playing down the fact that people will die, these are not numbers to freak out about. Odds are that we are not all going to die.

Sure, while it's not exactly a Thanos level event, that's still a lot of dead people, yo. However, Italy has reported 17660 infections and 1266 deceased which, and I'm no math whiz, but off the top of my head that works out to just shy of 9% not 1% We need to dodge that. Now Italy is over 21,000 infected...

Whatever the truth about the virus is, I'm sure it will inspire a lot of fiction in the future either way (art, books and even movies), it seems to have that potential (even though the subject of virus' certainly aren't a new topic).
