@phipps:

Article on how Catholicism got into the Seventh Day Adventist Church -

Introduction
This page is for Seventh day Adventists and those who follow the Spirit of Prophecy. Most Christians are not aware that history and the Bible reveal that the Adventist Church was specifically raised by God to restore a lost Commandment, teach end time Bible prophecy and prepare the world for the upcoming mark of the beast. However, in so saying, it is tragic that Satan slowly over time succeeded in bringing the trinity doctrine into the Adventist Church.

People from the Vatican have also found their way into the Adventist Church and some have even been caught. Jesuit priest Alberto Rivera testified on video that the Jesuit Order was instructed by the Black Pope to infiltrate the SDA Church and bring it over to Rome.

This is not something members want to hear, but it is something that they should expect since God said that Satan would make war with His remnant. (Revelation 12:17) It is up to Adventists to research this and take back the truth they once had, not just deny that it has happened...

http://www.trinitytruth.org/isthetrinityinthebible.html

Sadly for SDA's, the Seventh Day Adventist Church can (now again) be officially considered to be catholic, because the official faith of the SDA Church has been successfully returned to belief in the official Roman Catholic Creed (The Athanasian Creed) or in short: Catholicism.

This is of course also true, for every other one of the various christian churches, so-called, that have done the same thing whether they chose it willingly themselves or from being subverted from within like with the SDA church.

It's very easy to know, if your church (or if your belief) has also been subverted into being catholic, by doing a simple test:

If the church officially endorses the official Roman Catholic Creed, then the rest of what they claim probably does not really matter, since they are at a foundational level officially in agreement with and on par with the Roman Catholic Church's core belief, and regarding the core doctrine of their entire faith; which means: Catholicism.

Please consider this advice carefully and prayerfully, taking heed of Christ's warning in Revelation.

18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, COME OUT of her, MY people, that ye take not part in her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues (punishment).

Revelation 17

Mark
12:28 And one of the lawyers came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first COMMANDment of all?
12:29 And Jesus answered him, The First of all the Commandments [is], Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:
12:30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength and serve Him ONLY: this [is] the first COMMANDment.
12:31 And the second [is] like, [namely] this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other COMMANDment greater than these.
12:32 And the lawyer said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but He:
12:33 And to love Him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love [his] neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.
12:34 And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the Kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask him [any question].

Catholicism is often used as a polemic against Christianity, but also (and this is far more subtle), the true doctrines the Church also espoused are rhetorically tarred with the same Roman brush.

Nowhere more is this more obvious that when those who oppose the Trinity use documents like the Athanasian Creed to say “Catholics believe this”. It would be no more logical than saying that Catholics believed in the Ressurection, but for the fact that the Council of Nicea (which set out to set down orthodox Christian doctrine that had been under attack by the Gnostics, Arians etc) was convened by Constantine.

Is Michael just another angel?

It’s easy for some to conclude, on surface reading, that Michael is just another angel. But as we look deeper, we see that Michael is actually the Son of God, who became incarnate as “Jesus,” coming to our rescue.

Archangel is a compound of two Greek words: “arche” which means beginning or commencement, and “aggelos” which means angel or messenger. The word arche is also closely related to the word “archo,” which means “to be first” or to “reign (rule) over.” Thus the “Archangel” is the One who began (created) the angels and reigns over them. That would be none other than Christ. -Joe Gresham, Bible Studies Made Easy.

Bible scholars are in general agreement that an “archangel” is over the created angels. But not all agree that the Archangel is the Creator Himself.

Let’s look at a similar passage in which Christ is called the “beginning” of the creation of God:

“And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God.” (Revelation 3:14)

In this text “arche” is translated as “beginning.” Is it not reasonable to conclude that since to all the other churches, the One speaking is Christ Himself, this is clearly another description of Christ. Thus, it appears that in biblical usage, the “arch-creation” or “beginning of creation” means the Creator Himself.

Thus from the word usage, we could conclude that the “archangel” is also the Creator of the angels and not one of the created angels.

The name Michael means “One like God” or “There is no one else like God.” If Michael were only a created angel, then Lucifer’s aspiration to be “like God” could not be blasphemous and a reason for his expulsion from heaven. (See Isaiah 14:14.)

In Revelation 19:10 John starts to worship an angel and the angel tells him not to. Obviously this was a created angel who realized there was no way he, a created being could be equal with God. However, in Joshua 5, Joshua meets an Angel who accepts his worship, demonstrating that this was not a created angel, but the Angel who led Israel in the wilderness, referred to in Exodus 23:20-21:

“Behold, I send an Angel before you to keep you in the way and to bring you into the place which I have prepared. Beware of Him and obey His voice; do not provoke Him, for He will not pardon your transgressions; for My name is in Him. ."

Notice that the implication that this Angel can forgive transgression. Who but God Himself can forgive transgression? The Jews knew this and accused Christ of blasphemy when He forgave sin. (See Matthew 9:2-6)

So how do we know in the Bible that Michael is the Son of God, now known as Jesus?

Daniel called Michael a chief prince. Who is our chief prince?

"For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given….. And His name will be called…. Prince of Peace." Isaiah 9:6.

Who did Jude say raises the dead?

"Yet Michael the archangel, in contending with the devil, when he disputed about the body of Moses, dared not bring against him a reviling accusation, but said, “The Lord rebuke you!” Jude 1:9.

When Jesus comes, who raises the dead?

"For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first." 1 Thessalonians 4:16.

It is the Lord Himself who has the voice of the archangel. The same voice that Jesus said would raise the dead.

"Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live." John 5:25.

There are not two different persons who raise the dead. No created angel can raise the dead. Only Christ can do that.

While Michael rescued Daniel during his time of need, who will rescue us during our time of trouble?

“At that time Michael shall stand up, The great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people; And there shall be a time of trouble, Such as never was since there was a nation, Even to that time. And at that time your people shall be delivered, Every one who is found written in the book. And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, Some to everlasting life, Some to shame and everlasting contempt." Daniel 12:1-2.

Michael, the Son of God Himself will come to our rescue! How assuring to know that God loves us too much to let someone else save and rescue us! He rescues us Himself! Yes God also sends angels both terrestrial and celestial to help us in our time of needs, but He also loves us so much that He will finally come rescue all His people Himself!

Daniel 10 gives me comfort that, in my time of need, when I feel I am being overcome by Satan, I can cry out God, “Please send Michael!” And Michael, the Only one “like Unto God,” Yes God Himself will rescue me!

The name "Michael" is most consistently applied to Jesus as the leader of the angelic forces in the battle against Satan.

It's the battle between Christ and His angels, and Satan and His angels.

Daniel 10 -- Michael comes to the aid of Gabriel in resisting the forces of evil in Persia

Daniel 12 -- Michael stands up to deliver His people at a time when it seems like the forces of evil are about to conquer the world.

Jude 1 -- Michael the archangel, contends with Satan over the resurrection of Moses.

1 Thessalonians 4 -- The voice of the archangel delivers the saints from the prison house of death.

Revelation 12 sums it up -- And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,

No one else but Jesus Christ stands for us and totally defeats the forces of evil. Praise the Lord for His Truth is truth! And His name is Michael, as the LEADER of the angelic hosts fighting against satan and his angels.

"They (satan's agents) shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful." Revelation 17:14.

And Revelation 19 shows the LEADER of the angelic hosts (the King of kings and Lord of lords) riding forth with the angelic army to deliver His people from the forces of evil.

“See, I am sending an angel ahead of you"
angel=messenger

What you think about me doesn't make it true does it? Its only an opinion and that is neither here nor there really.

What I post is the truth and nothing but the truth about God whether you agree with it or not. And please don't swear, I'm sure even in Islam you're taught not to swear. You can make a point without swearing. Why not try eh?!

i'm sorry but sometimes there's no other way to respond to a person. What the fuck man?

if God sends a malaika/angel/messenger..then how on earth can you claim the angel itself is God?

Daniel 10 -- Michael comes to the aid of Gabriel in resisting the forces of evil in Persia
it actually says
Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained there with the king of Persia.
one of...as in there's more than one. Jesus is not a prince.

Daniel 12 -- Michael stands up to deliver His people at a time when it seems like the forces of evil are about to conquer the world.
it actually says
“At that time Michael, the great prince who protects your people, will arise.
i thought Jesus is already risen and will descend?

Jesus' voice is the voice of the Archangel.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, "But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words."

The Lord Himself” shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the “voice of an archangel.”
The Lord is obviously Jesus and He will come from heaven with the voice of the Archangel. The question to ask is why does Jesus use the voice of the Archangel? Is He not going to use His own voice?

I think that is a good question to ask and its answered in the gospel of John.

John 5:25-29, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself; And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man. Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation."

the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God” and “and they that hear shall live.”
This is pretty compelling; one verse (John 5:25) confirms that they will hear the sound of the voice of the Son of God; the other (1 Thessalonians 4:16) confirms that they will hear the sound of Michael the Archangel.

This is another verse that I mention in this thread that shows us that the voice the Archangel is the voice of Jesus. "And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other" (Matthew 24:31). Here Jesus has a trumpet that He sounds and the angels are sent to gather the elect, Just as He sounds the trump to resurrect the dead in 1 Thessalonians 4:16 as the Archangel.

All these verses confirm that Jesus Christ is Michael the Archangel because His voice is the voice of the Archangel.

Most Christians who have been presented with this idea of Michael the Archagnel being Jesus Christ have rejected it. However, there are a number of good reasons to believe that the personage known as Michael the Archangel can be identified as the Lord Jesus Christ.

First, let’s establish the truth that Jesus is not just an angel but that He is God.

When Jesus was born in Bethlehem, the Holy Spirit, through prophetic utterances, gave Him many appopriate names. Emmanual (“God with us,” Matthew 1:23); Jesus (“Saviour,” Matthew 1:21); the Lamb of God (John 1:29); Christ (“Messiah,” “annointed One” or “King,” John 1:41). Names in Biblical times were very important. Whenever the letters “el” were attached to a name, it had a reference to God. In the very name of Michael (“One like God”), only Jesus could be described as “One like God,” because He is God.

Some believe that the title, Michael the Archangel, could not refer to Jesus, because they feel this would bring Christ down to the level of a mere angel. But we need to understand that the prefix arch comes from the Greek word that means ruler, one who reigns over. Jesus can rightfully assume the position of ruler over all angels without being an angel Himself.

The Bible is given to us to teach us the truths of the kingdom of heaven. In Joshua 5:13-15, we read of the Lord telling Joshua how to capture the city of Jericho. As we read further, we find that this heavenly being assumed the form of a man. When Joshua asked if he was friend or foe, he was told that this person was “Captain of the host of the Lord.” This is just another way of saying, He is the archangel or ruler of the heavenly hosts.

Daniel 12:1 tells us that Michael is the great prince who stands watch over the sons of the people. A prince is the son of a king and Jesus is the Son of God, the King of heaven.

As we read Daniel, we discover that Michael is a prince and that the Messiah is a prince. Now, if Michael is a prince and Messiah is a prince, then two things equal to the same are equal to each other. In this context then, the Messiah and Michael are the same person, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Many who disagree that Jesus is the Archangel say that those who insist He is the Archangel are lowering Christ to a mere angel who are created beings. Jesus as the Archangel is the supreme leader, chief or captain of the angels as He told Joshua (Joshua 5:13-15) before He accepted Joshua's bowing down and worshipping Him which no unfallen angel would allow as they are created beings. He as God who created the angels leads and commands them. His title as the leader of the angels is Archangel or Michael the Archangel. Just because there is angel in the title name (Jesus has many titles in the Bible) does not make Him one. Although Jesus has appeared as an angel in the Old testament to His people (most of them could tell He was God), He has never lived as one for their salvation.

However Jesus lowered Himself and became a human being and lived for 331/2 years on this earth for our salvation. If He chose to, He can lower Himself to be an angel too because angels are higher beings than us. The Bible tells us, "For You have made him a little lower than the angels, And You have crowned him with glory and honor" (Psalm 8:5).

Biblical meaning of “Archangel.”

The Word Archangel is used just twice in the Bible, once in Jude 1:9 above, and the other is in 1 Thessalonians 4:16.

"Arch" is from the Greek prefix archi, but related words such as arche and archon should also be considered.

Arche means beginning, and can also involve the ideas of rule and authority. It is rendered in the KJV as "rule" (1 Corinthians 15:24); "principality" (Ephesians 1:21); and "first principles" (Hebrews 5:12). Archon means "prince," "ruler." Arche and archon are used at times in relation to our Lord as in the term "Angel of the Lord." Arche is used Messianically in Isaiah 9:6 where in the LXX (Bagster's translation) it is rendered "government" in the expression, "whose government [arche] is upon his [Messiah's] shoulder."

In the New Testament, Jesus our Lord is called "the beginning" [arche] (Colossians 1:18), also the "Alpha and Omega, the beginning [arche]" (Revelation 21:6; 22:13).

Archon is often rendered "ruler," "prince," et cetera. But once in the New Testament it is used in relation to Jesus "the prince [archon] of the kings of the earth" (Revelation 1:5).

Archon is used on occasions Messianically, and so refers to Christ our Saviour. He is "a prince [archon] and commander to the Gentiles" (Isaiah 55:4, LXX, Bagster's translation); He is the One that is "to be a ruler [archon] of Israel" (Micah 5:2, LXX, Bagster's translation). Another Greek word with the same prefix archi is archegos derived from archi and hegeomai or ago—"to lead," et cetera.

Archegos as found in the LXX is generally rendered by Bagster's translation as "head," "captain," "chief," "ruler," "prince," et cetera. But in the New Testament it is used only with reference to our Lord. He is referred to as captain—"The captain [archegos] of their salvation" (Hebrews 2:10); as author—"The author [archegos] . . . of our faith" (Hebrews 12:2, margin, "beginner"); as Prince—"A Prince [archegos] and a Saviour" (Acts 5: 31); and "the Prince [archegos] of life" (Acts 3:15, margin, "author").

The study of the above Greek words shows that at times they have been applied to Christ our Lord; further, that archegos in its use in the New Testament is in every instance applied to Jesus.

As I've posted throughout this thread Christ is not a created angel because angels, as created beings are not worshipped.

Colossians 2:18, "Let no one cheat you of your reward, taking delight in false humility and worship of angels, intruding into those things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind."

Revelation 19:10, "And I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “See that you do not do that! I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”

In fact angels themselves worship Christ.

Hebrews 1:6, "But when He again brings the firstborn into the world, He says: “Let all the angels of God worship Him.”

I've also posted in this thread that Jesus appeared as an angel in the Old Testament. In these posts here and here I mention some occasions where its obviously Christ that appeared as an angel by comparing scripture with scripture.

I mentioned "the angel of the Lord" (Exodus 3:2) and "the angel of God" (Exodus 14:19). Jesus is also called the "angel of presence" (Isaiah 63:9), "the messenger of the covenant" (Malachi 3:1), "mine angel" (Exodus 23:23) and "His angel" (Daniel 3:28). All these passages refer to the angel as Lord or God too.

Think on These Things: Book of Daniel’s Michael is Jesus.

Michael is mentioned three times in the book of Daniel — at Daniel 10:13, 10:21 and 12:1 — once as a “great prince who stands up for the children of your people.”

Questions arise about the true identity of the biblical Michael the archangel. Bible commentator Matthew Henry asserts that Michael is simply another name for Jesus Himself. Can we know for sure? The answer is found in the scriptures.

Doing an honest Bible study, one is led to the inescapable conclusion that Michael is none other than Jesus, the Creator, God the Son!

In the Greek New Testament, the word “angel” means “messenger”, and “arch” means “chief, greatest or highest”. So “archangel” simply means “highest or greatest messenger”. The Hebrew name Michael means “who is like God”.

Satan wanted to “be like the Most High.” (Isaiah 14:14) In Revelation 12:7, Satan is opposed by Michael and his angels, and is cast out of heaven.

“But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days; and behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left alone there with the kings of Persia” (Daniel 10:13).

It appears at first glance that Michael is only one of the chief princes. This is an unfortunate translation in the King James Version. The word “one” comes from the Hebrew word “echad” which also means “first”.

If we take the term “Michael the archangel” and examine the word “archangel”, we see another interesting match. The only other passage in the Bible that uses the word “archangel” is 1 Thessalonians 4:16. But look at its context: “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first.”

It is the voice of the archangel that raises the dead in Christ, and the Lord Himself who shouts it. This indicates that they are one and the same. Jesus is the one who shouts with the voice of the archangel, or “greatest messenger”, to raise the dead!

Obviously, angels don’t have the power to resurrect the dead. Only the Creator, who gives life, has the power to restore it. “For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself. … Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, and shall come forth” (John 5:26, 28, 29).

In Daniel 10:13-21, an angel identifies Michael as the protector of Israel. Daniel refers to Michael as a “prince of the first rank”. Later in the vision, in Daniel 12:1, Daniel is informed about the role of Michael during the “Time of the End”, when there will be “distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations. At that time Michael, the great prince who protects your people, will arise.”

In Revelation, Michael is portrayed as leading the heavenly hosts, or armies, in the war against the rebellious Lucifer that took place there. “And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels” (Revelation 12:7). Here the term “dragon” is a symbolic name for Satan, the leader of evil (verse 9), so it is very safe to assume that Michael is another name for Jesus, the embodiment and leader of good. And there is more evidence.

The activities of Michael could not be performed by a created being, but only by the power of divinity.

“Michael the archangel” means “the greatest messenger who is as God”. It was Jesus, “the image of the invisible God” (Colossians 1:15), who brought the greatest message of hope, the gospel, to our perishing world!

Micha-El is Hebrew and means "Who is LIKE God"?

The image (likeness) of someone can NEVER be the same as the individual to whom they are being likened. If little Johnny is like his dad, there is obviously no implication made that Johnny is his dad. A "chip off the old block" so to speak.

The Scriptures repeatedly tell us that Father, The King Ruler of the Universe, CREATED/MADE Prince Michael/Christ FIRST, and then taught Prince Michael everything by creating everything else and everyone else THROUGH Prince Michael. It is precisely because Michael is the FIRSTBORN, i.e. the one whom God the Father created FIRST, that Michael is the Great Prince, i.e. the One whom Father (God) anointed to be heir to the Kingdom.

Colossians 1:12-15
1:12 Giving thanks unto the Father, Which hath made us meet to be sharers of the inheritance of the holy people in Light:
1:13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated [us] into The Kingdom of His dear Son:
1:14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, [even] the forgiveness of sins:
1:15 Who is the IMAGE of the invisible God, THE FIRSTBORN OF EVERY CREATURE:

IMAGE = LIKENESS
INVISIBLE = something or someone that cannot be seen with human eyes
BORN = brought into existence; CREATED
FIRSTBORN = the first offspring brought into existence; the first created offspring
CREATURE = a CREATED living Being

Jesus was not the firstborn of every creature, as there were 42 generations between king David and Jesus (see Matt. 1:1-17). Prince Michael/Christ IS the firstborn of every creature, which is why Michael received a better name, position and inheritance, being the firstborn, being more LIKE Father (God) than any of the other angels that Father and Michael created together.

Hebrews 1:1-4
1:1 God, Who at sundry times and in diverse manners spoke in time past unto the fathers by the Prophets,
1:2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by [His] Son, whom He (God) hath appointed HEIR of all things, by whom also He made the worlds;
1:3 Who being the brightness of [His] glory, and the express IMAGE (Likeness) of His person, and upholding all things by The Word of His power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of His Majesty on high;
1:4 Being MADE (i.e. CREATED) so much better than the angels, as he hath BY INHERITANCE (as the FIRSTBORN/FIRST CREATED ANGEL/SON OF GOD) obtained a more excellent name than they.

Revelation 3:14 And unto the angel of the community of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, THE BEGINNING OF THE CREATION OF GOD (God's First Creation: His Firstborn Son Prince Michael/Christ);

It is Father (God) Who APPOINTED (chose) Michael to be His Firstborn Son and heir to the throne and Kingdom. Father knew before He made Prince Michael/Christ that no one else would ever be more LIKE Him (more like Father) than Prince Michael/Christ is.

Is God's name something secret or wonderful ?

Maybe the angel of the LORD whom at least Manoah and his wife thought was God... predicted the future prophecy of Isaiah ?

Isaiah 9 6For unto us a child is born,

unto us a son is given,

and the government will be upon His shoulders.

And He will be called

Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,

Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

7Of the increase of His government and peace

there will be no end.

He will reign on the throne of David

and over his kingdom,

to establish and sustain it

with justice and righteousness

from that time and forevermore.
