Trump isn't the reason we're in the situation we are but he's an avatar of everything wrong with the American political machine; mean-spirited, full of hubris, throwing around his power and our country's military might. He's not the cause, but he's a symptom and more importantly, he's a face. Even if he's a clown, if he can get people to actually want to tear down this system... Well, that's a good thing. I absolutely believe Trump is upset at comedians. He's always been thin-skinned, who surrounded himself with yesmen. And I absolutely agree we're losing free speech. I don't see Trump as a defender.

Well the sitting president rarely cares about most of the issues they have to resolve. Though I'm sure Trump cares somewhat, considering he would likely be banned if he wasn't the president.
