Nobody tells a chess player that they are caving for repositioning their pieces. Say I was moving my Queen into attack position, and that move was countered. My queen would leave that position and I would have gained nothing, but regardless these were the best possible moves.

Admittedly I haven't followed the whole story. But government shutdowns aren't a good look. People get really upset, and it provides a ton of ammo. So opening the government is the best move. It may not feed red meat to the mob, but it seems like putting it behind us would be something that's good.

I think people will get over the Wall. Sure there will be a ton of sniping and cheap shots over it. However, these hardcore Republicans have nowhere else to turn.

Yeah but he backed himself into this corner, he loses by keeping the shutdown going and he loses by stopping it. I agree that the damage he will sustain now is less than if the shutdown continued, but this isn’t a sign of genius, good strategy or deal-making.

Most will stick with him but a 5% loss would be fatal for him.

Or he was pressured into that corner. But again I haven't followed all the particulars. The "Corner" squares in chess are actually quite deadly, but they are like a doubled edged sword. The problem is your pieces can easily get pinned and effectively shut down.

I'm not saying Trump is pinned here. But if he is, it's not because he's in the corner. It seems more likely his own pieces may be doing most of the counterproductive blocking. Plus it's not like he's checkmated. This game isn't over, and I've seen some chess masters pull some insane moves.

I don't like to admit it, but sometimes I just sit around and watch replays of the top chess players ever. So just trust me when I say, I've seen some freaky stuff. Moves that you would never expect to be good end up winning.

Well to quote both Yogi Berra and Lenny Kravitz, “it ain’t over till it’s over”.

You can’t really say Trump is in a good spot right now, but there’s a lot of time between now and Election Day and this is when animals are most dangerous.

Lol no. The narrative is definitely not good. But I liken most of the talking heads out there to vultures. They will pounce when the opportunity presents itself, but otherwise, they are a relative non-factor.

For the record, I'm not pro anyone right now. I know some people here don't take me seriously as a leader, but I am a leader. So I'm just trying to use my experiences as a leader to try to relate. It's tough because you get pulled in many different directions. Plus if you are the type of leader who really goes in and gets dirty it's even more of a burden.

You are right that this specific type of leader is dangerous. Battles are lost, morale is low and you need to go out and hurt somebody. In a situation like that, I would try to act defeated while actually preparing something vicious. Plus a proper surprise attack is meant to be swift and vicious. And it's funny because I executed something like that just recently. It did feel more like instinct, but I didn't feel like a wolf or anything.

I felt like an Ancient Egyptian hunter. With a spear that's about to have zero chance of missing.

Some people around here don't even take you seriously as a poster never mind a leader. Let's keep it real.

I think people will get over the Wall
This could be a bit of a problem....what will Trump do to counter this?....nationwide ladder bans perhaps?

Say I was moving my Queen into attack position, and that move was countered. My queen would leave that position and I would have gained nothing, but regardless these were the best possible moves
I see you are a proponent of the "Trump is playing 4D intergalactic chess" conspiracy theory?....have you ever played chess?....can you not even recognise the pawns?

I've seen some chess masters pull some insane moves
Indeed, Karpov v Kasparov World Championship 1985 (game 16) immediately springs to mind when we saw Krasparov at his very best, offering a pawn sac in the opening, establishing a tremendous knight on d3, clamping down with 21...g5!.... it was just mental wasn't it?!?!

I don't like to admit it, but sometimes I just sit around and watch replays of the top chess players ever.
Hmmmm........(ponders next move)

I would try to act defeated while actually preparing something vicious
Play possum eh?......masterstroke!!!....wasn't that a Yusupov tactic from Brussels in 1991?

Plus a proper surprise attack is meant to be swift and vicious
Well it's hardly a surprise now is it?

If I were ranting, who cares?
I'm tired of the Left.
Not much a fan of the Right as it stands.
Incoherently? Not likely. You just have your fixed position and I have mine based in reality.

Carry on.
You don’t even know my position, I never offered it. This is why I said your ranting incoherently

Lol, the Troll of one-liners is back. Sit tight for my response. I'm struggling through tears after seeing your 2nd-grade grammar and spelling. Aren't you like 50? Why haven't you figured out how to spell basic words?

Chess? Trump aint even playing checkers..... more like one-on-one Tic Tac Toe. And he still loses, everytime.
You mean... Except for when he beat the heavily favored Presidential Candidate?

Have you ever ran for public office? Just saying. It takes some guts or bravery to put yourself out there like that.

►Make politics more accessible to people who have rarely voted or cared about it, and widen the door of civic engagement.

Feel free to discuss any of the many things listed. I am not a major Trump fan but to continue to deny he has done nothing is beyond short-sighted. With such a slanted media which ignores facts and accomplishments, it is no wonder we have so many hate zombies.
Nobody rants like a triggered Trumpster.....think you have just blown your cover.

The guy is a sleazeball of the worst kind, end of.

I will say the same thing I have for months. I did not vote for Trump but think it is hilarious that so many here want to blame him for everything, imagined and real that is wrong with the world. I am pointing out that there is good and bad in everything and it is not all black and white. To not give him credit for anything is to show unreasonable objectivity. So, I listed a bunch of stuff, actually pasted it to show the aforementioned. I am not particularly fond of any politician. What we have seen in this thread is blind hate while ignoring some facts. By all means, address some of what was listed. It was no rant. It was a list of things to discuss or not.

Lol, the Troll of one-liners is back. Sit tight for my response. I'm struggling through tears after seeing your 2nd-grade grammar and spelling. Aren't you like 50? Why haven't you figured out how to spell basic words?

You mean... Except for when he beat the heavily favored Presidential Candidate?

Have you ever ran for public office? Just saying. It takes some guts or bravery to put yourself out there like that.
Trump is a bum who won that race because the worst candidate in the modern history of elections scammed her way to victory in the Dem party primary. Bill/shill/killary cheated Sanders who would have likely eviscerated Trump by any electoral metric you wish to measure by.

I agree that Hillary and the dem party screwed Sanders, but I don't think it really changed anything. He is too far left for moderate dems.

Many of the harsher critics of Trump in the forums are not from the US, nor have ever set foot here. So, all they have to go on is what the MSM feeds them. That same MSM is bleeding and many of their sites are laying people off left and right while there is a war on any right voice, namely You Tube.

Yes, Hillary was selected over Sanders for a reason. That being the left did not think a socialist could win and he too would have been defeated for that reason. Trump won because much of America was tired of 8 years of Obama, who had us in wars and gave away things in an effort to go to globalism. At least half of America is sick of political correctness which will in time eat itself.

Trump was a TV star which won and that is a head scatcher, but he won because he had a business mind and it has shown. He won because people did not want the new rules of PC forced on them. I was accused of a rant when the person which did so, only offers that kind of stuff up to go with their non-stop personal grudges.

Let me stop you there. The man is a liar. If you want to put your trust in a liar then that's up to you. All politicians are liars, that's what they do, they lie for a living. If you don't see that by now you are a fool.
