Palestinian men detained by Israeli forces since the start of the war in Gaza have told Middle East Eye how they were physically tortured with dogs and electricity, subjected to mock executions, and held in humiliating and degrading conditions.
In testimonies to MEE, one man, who was taken by Israeli forces from a school in Gaza where he had sought refuge with his family, described how he had been handcuffed, blindfolded, and detained in a metal cage for 42 days.
During interrogations, he said he had been given electric shocks, as well as scratched and bitten by army dogs.

- Israeli forces besieged and raided Gaza’s largest hospital again in the early hours of Monday.
-Gaza’s Government Media Office said heavily armed Israeli troops, accompanied by drones and tanks, launched the offensive in the early hours of dawn on Monday and began shooting inside the complex.
-This is Israel’s fourth attack on the hospital since October 7.
-The Israeli military says it is conducting a “precise operation” in al-Shifa Hospital, claiming that Hamas has regrouped and is using the medical facility to “conduct and promote terrorist activity”.
-Israeli army vehicles are stationed inside the hospital’s courtyard, as its forces launched missiles and opened fire at the hospital’s specialised surgery building.
-According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, some 30,000 people – including displaced civilians, wounded patients and medical staff – are trapped inside the hospital amid Israel’s onslaught.
-“What the occupation forces are doing is a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law,” the ministry said, adding that there are a “number of martyrs and wounded”.

Based on similar views I've heard Medhurst is correct in acknowledging how the US/India trade corridor (IMEC) was set up in direct competition against the Chinese led BRI. From the Trump/Kushner organized Abraham Accords the US has desperately wanted to normalize relations between the KSA and Israel- efforts that have obviously stalled. The other information about attempting to isolate Russia and almost certainly sabotaging the NS pipeline are essential information.
I agree with his general analysis but my criticism of Medhurst in this clip is he tends to speak with hyperbole at times, exaggerating claims into "all or nothing" statements... when IMO the events are not so dramatic or without nuance.
First off Israel and the US did not "kill off all the competition" for natural resource extraction in the countries along the Mediterranean. The US has their bases in Syria but I've never heard they control 100% of the oil. Israel was forced to accept Lebanon's right over their gas fields and agreed to compensation. Lebanon has the intention to work their own offshore fields. In the east Russian output of LNG decreased after '22 but is now increasing again. The US is the largest producer of natural gas but Iran, China, Kuwait, Australia, etc. extract a fair share- together with Russia they far exceed the US.
Richard said: "Either the Resistance Axis and the Global South EXPEL the American Israeli colonizers from the ME- or Israel and the US will continue occupying the region... choking off the new silk road, plundering Syria's oil, and keeping Russian/Iranian/Arab gas cut off from the world market."
There is already talk over the US drawing back their presence in Syria but expelling Israel? Israel was granted formation by the UNGA. I'm sure the region would love their departure but Israelis are going nowhere. Again I feel Medhurst's urgency but as much as they wished the West has barely put a dent in the BRI or the trade between KSA, India, Russian, and Iran. Their gas isn't at all "cut off from the world" just look up articles on the black-market trade of Russian fuels to India or others back into Europe haha. The entire escapade is all for show.
I agree about the existential threat facing Palestinians, the slaughter of Gaza we get updated on by the minute. But through the many posts and analysis in this thread we know there are more than economic factors to Israel's sadism. If we choose 1824 as the beginning of these Protestant/ British Zionist fantasies, we're witnessing the death of a 200 year cult project. There's a lot of history unfolding.
Thanks Awoken for posting the video. I am no authority but for the sake of conversation wanted to point out what struck me personally in Medhurst's analysis. To finish I truly appreciate Medhurst's "anti-empire" perspective. He's doing tremendous work to raise our collective consciousness and bring about world peace.

Israeli army claims to find ‘terror funds’ inside al-Shifa Hospital
The Israeli military has released short videos from inside the complex of the al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City that claim that it has found “terror” funds.
A soldier says their group just opened a safe and found money. It showed a note that the military claims was written by Hamas and the Islamic Jihad, thanking the hospital for its “good work”.
