From the legal and historic perspective yes you might be missing something important. I don't have the tweet but Ali Abuminah commented that the court could never call for a ceasefire as Israel are the (supposed) caretakers of an occupied population... and not in a formal war between nations. What the court did rule is that South Africa's evidence for genocide, war crimes, etc. were legitimate- ordering Israel and her whorish allies to prevent genocide- an admission that genocidal acts are occurring.
