New Testament records Jesus' teachings, the
twelve Apostles, and
His instructions to them to continue His work. Peter was the first Bishop. Yes, there has been lots of corruption. The Satanists are targeting Catholics, desacrating and stealing the sacramental communion host, starting fires, even violence towards Priests and Nuns. You don't see them doing that to other religions....and that says something.
You must be joking. Jesus said only heathens and hypocrites go to church, to be seen by others (
Matt. 6:5-8) and that
NO ONE should be a priest, etc. (
Matt. 23:8-10). They should instead, as you have advised, be reading the Bible and
DOING what it says,
NOT what the spiritually blind leaders of organized religions tell them to do.
Peter was
NEVER in Rome, so he couldn't possibly be the first bishop. It wasn't until 325 AD that Constantine became the first, self-appointed "bishop of bishops", a title which later became the pope, referred to in Scripture as "the son of the destroyer" (
2 Thess. 2:3-12).
