"As quoted by Eisler,[26]:393–394,414–415 both Hierosolymitanus and John of Damascus claim that "the Jew Josephus" described Jesus as having had connate eyebrows with googly eyes and being long-faced, crooked and well-grown. In a letter of certain bishops to the Emperor Theophilus, Jesus's height is described as 3 cubits (four foot six), which was also the opinion of Ephrem Syrus (320–379 AD): "God took human form and appeared in the form of three human ells (cubits); he came down to us small of stature." Theodore of Mopsuestia likewise claimed that the appearance of Christ was smaller than that of the children of Jacob (Israel). In the apocryphal Lentulus letter, Jesus is described as having had a reddish complexion, matching Muslim traditions in this respect. Jesus's prediction that he would be taunted "Physician, heal yourself"[31] may suggest that Jesus was indeed physically deformed ("crooked" or hunch-backed), as claimed in the early Christian texts listed above. Justin Martyr, Tertullian, and Ambrose considered lack of physical attractiveness in Jesus as fulfilling the messianic prophecy Suffering Servant narrative of Isaiah 53.[32]"

This part is very interesting: "lack of physical attractiveness in Jesus as fulfilling the messianic prophecy"

You can see that those acients already knew about lookism! Attractive and tall men are treated with respect, while short and ugly men are thread like garbage. Also, the fact that Jesus was short, shows that God knows that short men came in the world to suffer.

we don’t really know what Jesus looked like, apart from a general idea (if the Shroud is authentic).

We do know that King Saul was tall and attractive, but man looks on the outer appearance, and God upon the heart. Whatever Jesus looked like in His earthly life doesn’t equate to what He looks like now.

When Jesus was transfigured, His true likeness was revealed and the disciples were in AWE.

For he grew up before him like a young plant, and like a root out of dry ground; he had no form or majesty that we should look at him, and no beauty that we should desire him. - Book of Isaiah, Chapter 53, Verse 2

The excerpt below is from the historic letter Pontius Pilate wrote to Tiberius Caesar, Emperor of Rome, from the "Archko Volume" containing manuscripts, in Constantinople, and the Records of the Senatorial Docket, taken from the Library at Rome, translated by Drs. McIntosh and Twyman of the Antiquerian Lodge, Genoa, Italy (a letter which has been checked and is in accord with the copy of the original lodged in the British Museum, which verified the accuracy of the transcription in November, 1935.

I WAS TOLD IT WAS JESUS

Among the various rumors that came to my ears there was one in particular that attracted my attention. A young man, it was said, appeared in Galiee preaching with a noble unction a new law in the name of God who had sent him. At first I was apprehensive that his design was to stir
up the people against the Romans, but my fears were soon dispelled. Jesus of Nazareth spoke rather as a friend of the Romans than of the Jews. One day in passing by the place of Siloe, where there was a great concourse of people, I observed in the midst of the group a young man who was
leaning against a tree, calmly addressing the multitude. I was told it was Jesus. This I could easily have suspected, so great was the difference between him and those listening to him. His golden-colored hair and beard gave him the appearance of a celestial aspect. He appeared to be
about thirty years old. Never have I seen a sweeter or more serene countenance. What a Contrast between him and his hearers, with their black beards and tawny completion!

With regard to the measure of a cubit, there exists a wide variety of measurements in various cultures at various times in history.

The most logical range for the measure of a cubit would seem to be between 22 and 24" in modern, imperial units. That being the case, 3 cubits would be 5'6 to 6'0, which would encompass the average height of men on this planet (averaging around 5'9").

And with regard to the passage from Isaiah 53, in particular verse 2, it clearly is NOT saying that the body of Jesus was "short and ugly"; but that it would be average, so that Christ's TRUE followers would recognize Him inside of Jesus (John 1:10-14), and love Him for His Mind and the Truth that He speaks, and His Actions, rather than for the physical beauty of the flesh (John 6:63).

Isaiah 53:1-5
53:1 Who hath believed Our report? and to whom is the Arm of the "I AM" revealed (Matt. 11:27-28)?
53:2 For he shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, [there is] no beauty that we should desire him.
53:3 He is despised and rejected of men; a "man of sorrows", and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were [our] faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
53:4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
53:5 But he [was] wounded for our transgressions, [he was] bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace [was] upon him; and with his stripes we are healed (Matthew 27).

That guy throwing gang signs is a poseur.
Imho.

As for Jesus:
Isaiah 53
He grew up before Him (God) like a tender shoot,
and like a root out of dry ground.
He had no stately form or majesty to attract us,
no beauty that we should desire Him.

He was despised and rejected by men,
a man of sorrows, acquainted with grief.

Maybe, but I have always liked the words of MLK

“Judge a man not by the color of his skin, but by the content of his character.” — Martin Luther King Jr

And of Sam Gamgee…

…But handsome is as handsome does we say. Now's a chance to show your quality." (Sam lecturing Faramir, The Window on the West)
