Really tragic man... Not much I can say other than I hope they catch this guy before he hurts anyone else, or that he does the world a favor and just kills himself. I don't often support suicide unless it is between hurting/killing others and yourself. If you're the kind of heartless and cowardly fuck that could take other peoples' lives because you're too scared to take your own, then fuck you and go kill yourself. I'd much rather someone so troubled find some help, but when it comes down to it I'd rather they take their own life than the lives of others.

It highlights the even bigger issue that is Facebook live streaming. I'm not saying Facebook is to blame but more so the culture that have been cultivated through its platform.

In a way, yes, but at the same time there has never really been anything stopping people from filming themselves committing violence or murder and then posting it to YouTube or some other place on the internet. Or like that guy a year or so ago that shot that female news person and her camera man while they were live.

Personally, I have no interest in something like Facebook Live and would have no issues with Facebook and other platforms offering such services taking the services away, however, I don't know for sure that Facebook Live not being a thing would have prevent this piece of human garbage from doing what he did. In a way it's almost better (other than people more freely subjecting themselves to watching this man's life be taken from him) that it was broadcast because the guy's face is everywhere and he is more likely to be found or noticed before being able to hurt anyone else. Of course, that said, it's insane that they've yet to be able to catch him.

I don't disagree. I mean part of the blame is obviously this shooter and for once it isn't a gun culture thing. Odd to actually see someone just doing bad and trying to place blame.

The video was reportedly up on facebook for 3 hours before it was removed. 3 hours??!! That fact should upset people though. And yeah It gets tiresome watching these psycho fake tough guys unravel. They always act so big and bad, and than they go and hurt someone who wont fight back.

That's where the incredulity lies is in it being up for three hours. To top it off, people assumed it to be fake as if it was a joke or something. Ten years ago people would have been calling the police like mad and now everything is a challenge or hoax.

That old man didn't deserve to go out like that not to his bitch ass.

I also heard that it was up for 3 hours, but what I wasn't able to determine was if it was up for 3 hours after being reported for what it was, or was nobody watching when he did it and nobody saw the video for 2 hours or something and that is when it was reported? I'm honestly asking if you guys know or not because I've not seen anyone differentiate that.

Three hours sounds about right. Facebook has no customer service line or any way to directly contact them. You would just submit a report ticket and wait for it to be reviewed. If no one had privileges to delete it, then it would stay up there until the report ticket was reviewed by FB.

I understand this process reduces ridiculous disputes people would try to involve FB in, but it is weird and frustrating that there is no direct customer service line.

They are probably going to have to change this soon because this is the third issue I've heard of where someone live streamed themselves commiting a crime. There was that boy that was kidnapped too and there was another one where a girl was being gang r**ed. I'm surprised they haven't changed it already. You need to be able to call someone when that happens who has access to info they can give to authorities.

Definitely agree, but can you imagine the abuse such a system would get? It's not like prank calling the cops where you could get in trouble for it. People would just be prank calling the FB hotlines all the time.

I'm sick of Facebook and its clearly the work of the devil,there's no morals or limits left. I don't believe that they are interested about their users or content at all ,just about selling our data .it's like a register office. Can't wait for the first snuff live porn :(

I'm sure there are word patterns they can program into an algorithm. People who are actually under distress probably write a certain way. If the right words pop up they can have a big alert go off at FB headquarters. They definitely have the capabilities, but I think they just don't give a shit. It is all about selling our data. Facebooks PR strategy is not to take blame for anything that happens. If it's fake news, or a video of someone getting shot. Sorry, not their fault.

But Facebook will implode so don't feel too upset. And I think Google might not even be safe. All someone has to do is make something way better. Anything can happen now. Trump is president
