My understanding (well this is what I actually saw when I watched) is that the governor of NY is asking the feds to send in the army corps of engineers because there is no where near enough hospital capacity for what they are anticipating and the state doesn’t have the man power to retro fit or build more capacity as quickly as they feel they need.

Now what the hell my mother in law was taking about idk. I couldn’t find it anywhere.

They did close down all restaurants, bars, and shops effective Tuesday in New York City.. as well as the schools. So idk how that’s going to actually work because New Yorkers tend to not listen or obey things like that. And I can 100% see all that being closed and them STILL congregating in crowds in the parks etc. at which point then yes I can assume the national guard or something might be sent in - but honestly the NYPD is a para military force in and of itself so idk that the military would actually be needed for that. They are brutal enough themselves.

In all seriousness though, they are talking about possible 2 months shut downs, and if this is the case it wouldn't harm to be stocked up in essential goods. Better safe than sorry IMO.

What is taking place (worldwide shutdown) is no small matter.

2 months is a long time to be prepared for... I have enough meat and dry goods but vegetables and milk aren’t something you can stock for that long. I need to buy milk every couple of days with a toddler and idk how that’s going to work out honestly. I’ve already seen places selling out of milk and if we are locked in our homes it wouldn’t matter if I could buy it anyway. I thought about buying Yoo-hoo but that isn’t really healthy..

I don’t even think they are conditioned with the panic buying.
I still hate the thought of giving up our freedom essentially, but if it helps our medical establishment able to do their jobs and not be overloaded, then so be it.

We’ll see. I still think the virus itself is overrated. Pneumonia is no joke though, so given how easily contagious this thing is. Shut her down.

My biggest gripe/worry is all businesses being affected. Especially to all those hard working mom & pop shops and business owners who have to shut down to comply.

Italy’s problem is that there medical establishments were overloaded so they couldn’t attend to those because it was just mass chaos. That’s why the world governments saw that mistake and are trying to keep their countries from that same fate.

Now as for the actual virus? I have a little theory if you fell sick from December to now. You more than likely had it.

I was pretty damn sick in late jan/early feb. sinus infection, fever, headache, phlegm galore, shortness of breathe and stuffiness. Basically I had upper respiratory illness for like a week and a half. And it was bad.

My wife got it, our son got it mild. My pops got really bad, my mom got really bad and both of my brothers got it mild but one of my brothers did end up with the flu.

So I think this thing has been circulating for quite some time outside of China.
The only question is why is it affecting italy the way it is?

Put simply, there currently aren't enough retail and warehouse workers to keep up with these demands. Plus who the hell is going to want to go work at ground zero during a pandemic? So we are talking about food and worker shortages.

A global tragedy (be it real or not) is leading to global thinking. Too many coincidences and an obvious layer of restrictions released as if they are off a chart. FWIW, the US and others are about to go on a two week lockdown where we are forced to stay home. The thing here is that while we all have different takes on the event, we are all on the same team on this one in that they will not treat any of us differently. People need to take deep breaths and de-stress. Those of us here know this is a play -- a major one that we have spoken of. If nothing else, help each other and drop the religion, lack thereof and such for a bit. (at least in this thread)

Given the communication skills of the average retail manager, id say that sounds pretty typical.

The company I work for literally doesn't speak to their employees. They will post some notes on a time-clock and leave each other handwritten notes like children. I'm being serious too. We are deep into the digital age and these clowns can't find an effective way to organize how they communicate.

I would be suspicious of this new bill they are trying to pass in the US. I would bet that if you read all of it there may be forced vaccinations in there as well.

Yep. This was the goal all along, to herd us into protection for our own good. How many here know a sick an infected person, has seen one, etc?

the sickness is real, I just dont think its all that deadly. Its basically a jacked up flu, although many people get mild symptoms.

almost everyone I know (myself and wife included) has gotten pretty sick sometime since January to now. It's not a hoax.

like somebody else said, I think this thing has been in circulation for a while. I think we are way behind this thing, so all this quarantine stuff probably isn't going to help because I think the horse has left the barn already. They are using all of this as an excuse to lock us down, cause fear, and then offer their solution. This also may be a test run for something much worse further down the line.

I was honestly considering the same thing. This season has been the worst season I have probably ever seen already and we weren’t testing for this, so there is no real way of knowing. We still aren’t testing for this enough, which contributes to the sense of panic I think. There is just no way to know if you need to self quarantine or if you can still go to the store if you haven’t been tested.

but people have been super sick this season. It seems like at least 40% are being tested for flu like symptoms for the last couple of months. although, I couldn’t tell you how many of those were positive for the expected strains of flu this season and how many were negative for this, but hospitals were overloaded without something like this and have been for a long time.

sanders said something last night in the debate that was very true about this situation. He said something like how it shows how unprepared our economy and healthcare system is for something like this. our healthcare system is flooded with the chronically ill right now because that is how it survives economically, which sucks in a situation like this. Ive said for a long time, people don’t get well in our healthcare system. There are very few cures. Our system basically thrives on dependency. It’s going to be an interesting month.

Yeah the very low death rate does not warrant this kind of drastic measures. It was all about cracking down on society without any good reason and shut down the economy as well to make everyone more dependant on the government. They even pushed more for Universal Basic Income during this engineered crisis. How much more do we need to see this is just 9/11 10x worse in slow motion?
