I guess we won't be returning to normalcy until a vaccine is introduced...

Quite interesting how many of the deaths have been men. Men are definitely more affected by women...
I know of one case, my husband's cousin, who has had the virus for 3 weeks and has had to take one month off work. His pregnant wife also contracted it and recovered in less than a week, with little to no symptoms. He however, was almost hospitalised and according to the doctors 'on his death bed'. He is much better now thank goodness but still has a persistent dry cough...
Kind of reminds of Boris Johnson and his girlfriend. She too is pregnant and recovered relatively quickly, didn't experience any worrying symptoms. Yet he had to be hospitalised...and is now on the mend.
Returning to normal 'not likely in short term', says Hancock
The health secretary, Matt Hancock, has been doing the rounds this morning, and has told Sky that it will take time for life to return to normal.
He stressed the number of deaths is still “far too high” for any exit strategy to be set out, adding the public must instead focus on staying at home.

It is very clear that this tory government have absolutely no clue as to what they're doing. Keeping us in lockdown for another month or so will not do anything in the way of solving the issues of the virus. There needs to be a plan set so people can return to normalcy...
Also, the 80% wages that Rishi Sunak stated would be paid by the government is only for those who self isolate due to contracting the virus or be in a household with someone who has it. So people like myself who do not qualify for unemployment benefits (dubbed Univeral Credit) are going to be out of pocket.
The reason many do not qualify for universal credit is because you need to make a joint claim if you are married/live with a partner. If your partner works full time, you will receive the pittance of £50 a week (if you are lucky) and you will have to wait 5-6 weeks for your first payment.
