Well, that's confusing then...but I guess you've decided to "venerate" Mary, unless that's also part of your religion?

I don't venerate Mary, no, but not out of theological reasons. I'm simply not inclined to do so. Don't get people's problem with "veneration" of Mary though. Seems petty, insensitive and illogical.
