Spanish and Korean are still different languages that have had huge success in an English speaking market. There is a slow demand for both now that the waters have been tested with great success. You're not going to shove BTS to start promoting in the biggest market were there's no certainty to how it will react despite their large fanbase. But this passed year with their participation in interviews and award shows, it's proved that there's high anticipation wherever they go so now I believe they'll start releasing more things in the American music industry but with a blend of English/Korean, which is essentially what K-Pop is anyways. As I've said in a previous post, they wouldn't have signed onto an American label and hired a heavy hitting legal firm and highly respected PR team if they didn't want to expand in the western market.
Asian fans (no offence- just an observation) have shown to be the most aggressive when it comes to invading their privacy and personal space. Just look at the airport fancams that have shown them trampling on idols and grabbing on them in complete chaos. That's behaviour you don't typically see in America. They even show up to their houses. I'm not talking about all Asian fans either so don't take it personally.
After the Billboards, RM stated in an interview how they really wanted to come back to America and to give them a chance because of how much they wanted to perform and how much they love it there. He had a genuine reaction too and the boys clearly had been crying out of happiness after they won. That doesn't seem like something you would say or do if you didn't want more opportunities offered lol
As for the elite, this next comeback will put many pieces of the puzzle together on their potential involvement, I think.
