Yes idk who said it but there was something like “BTS will pave the way for other Kpop acts to make it big in America” Now groups like NCT and Exo are getting called by big media coverages like BillboardPersonally I think ever since they made their US mini pre-debut after their dark and Wild album back in 2014 everything changed...remember BTS American hustle life when they went to the US to get training and advice from well known ppl from the music industry like Tony jones, coolio ect I feel like they learned a few minor tricks. Their dark and wild concept was simple, there was no complicated fan theories it was only after I need you when theories started surfacing, and symbolism slowly started to appear but in my opinion it only starting getting super blatant after Fire...it’s just so crazy how well thought out and interlinked BIGHIT made each song...like every little detail is connected, it’s honestly like a series
Here’s an interview of tony on his experience with BTS I only posted what I found interesting:https://www.soompi.com/2014/11/17/interview-meet-tony-jones-bts-hip-hop-mentor-on-american-hustle-life-2/
Where do you see K-Pop in five years?
T: I really see K-Pop blowing up and growing. I don’t know if the management thought of bringing them to America or starting an American BTS, but what they’re doing is brilliant. There’s no one in America dancing, singing, and rapping like that. It’s actually a good idea to start a group like that in America. They took from New Edition, from Boys to Men, they also took from A$AP Rocky. They just took everything and put it together. I don’t know if that was the plan or the boys were that talented but it’s lucky they came together. It’s brilliant. I really think that K-Pop will blow up more and it won’t be a local thing anymore. It’s going to grow because of BTS.
Hmmm...
Anyway you can read the rest of the interview but that’s just my opinion
