Are modern Satanists really scientific materialists, or is it a double bluff?

What I find interesting about the below is the tone. Whilst it appears on first view to highlight the fact of the event, it actually promotes the narrative that Satanism is all about being rational, individualistic and in favour of progress and science rather than myth and tradition. I believe this is not accidental and may have two objectives:

To lure people who have been hurt or offended by the Church into “ironic” Satanism

To create an anti-science, anti-reason straw man with which to attack Christianity.

I'm almost wondering if we aren't due for another sort of 70s style reemergence of satanism as a means for the enemy to jump start things. They used rock to bring a satanic revival in the 70s and 80s. They need to pollute the atmosphere with demonic presence to get the ball rolling.

If I remember right the beast can't appear until there is a certain degree of rebellion first and willful renunciation of God. Sadly every satanist is viewed as a useful idiot to the demons they are controlled by. Lavey tried to distance himself from the occult and make his views seem somewhat rational even though he was doing actual rituals. Either way I think of the pharisees and how they were told they were of their father on the basis of the lusts they served.

I think we are transitioning from a society that is rebellious to one that is outright defiant toward God. It's sad, really...

It symbolises rebellion against everything moral, good, and traditional beliefs that hold them back from doing what they want.
Some appear like they just want to shock and make fun of other people in the most extreme way possible.
Therefore many different reasons could be given for why a person chose Satanism instead of another religion.

There would have to be a lot of self deception as well as spiritual seduction to even consider Satanism as a good option to take though!

I'd say that it's a double bluff because their apologetic seems plausible on the surface.
But then their actions and actual belief system, regardless of if they profess to be atheists or not, advances the same anti-human goals that actual Satan does.

I find it interesting that Satanism captures a particular “mood” that is becoming popular (and has been popularised by much of the media that @VigilantCitizen highlights).

Never mind if Satan is real, what he represent to Satanists is rebellion, freedom of expression, the ability to recreate ourselves in the image we make, unaccountability etc.

It occurs to me that such a view is rather like tearing out a dashboard on a car and believing that because of that, you are free from speed limits and engine failures!

I find it interesting that people are being invited by the MSM to choose between identifying with white supremacy or at least having sympathy with the Satanists.

I don’t think they are expecting donations from you @Lizard King (!)- the “conference” refers to the global Anglican Christians who are Bible based rather than bending to the authority of the Archbishop of Canterbury. Recently they took as stand against the apostate CofE and said “enough us enough”, perhaps rendering many GAFCON Christian leaders technically unemployed by the global structure. So strongly did these people feel about their need to break away that they would risk their financial security for the sake of the Word of God. I applaud their integrity tbh.

What is interesting is that once in a TV show: "Ghost Adventure". Whether they are true or false, whether they are good or bad. The team leader came across in the forest, on Satanists, who were hooded and standing in a circle and sacrificing chickens.
