And People Thought Blatant Racism Didn't Exist Anymore

“I have a dream that one day little black boys and girls will be holding hands with little white boys and girls.” (Martin Luther King Jr.)

I like to believe I live in the world Martin Luther King was talking about and make this my reality by not discriminating what children can wear because of their race.
You don't live in the world of the perfect harmony of Martin Luther King's dream.

And trying to not squash discussion of racism is part of what prevents that world from being achieved.

I am all for peace but not for peace that comes at the expense of minorities. Until then, the problems remain until they are defeated. Until then the struggle for a harmonious world is ongoing.

I mean in the US police can basically hunt black men for sport....... this has been repeatedly, repeatedly demonstrated. There also has been targeting of Latin men.

Furthermore, there is the bombing of places like Yemen and Libya.

Furthermore, there is the imperialism in Latin America and the attempts to overthrow Latin American governments that refuse to be US puppets. I think this is going on in other regions as well. I think Iran is a current example.

These are just examples off the top of my head. If we really study what's going on in Africa, Latin America, the Middle East, Asia, etc....... all sorts of disturbing things pop up.

Even the K Pop stuff..... that whole Kpop Illuminati Symbolism thread is a symptom of Western imperialism...... that is not bias, that is just fact........ as I said in that thread- all that Illuminati MK-Ultra is not from South Korea..... there are surely South Koreans who are complicit but the ones behind it clearly are Westerners. And I think it shows that.... whatever one thinks of how North Korea is run (and I don't trust at all what our media says about them).... they are right to be anti-imperialist. So are Cuba, Venezuela and China.

Look at how much better off Libya and Iraq were before... and look at after. Look at what's happened in places like Yemen and Syria. That stuff is horrible.

Racism can't be detached from imperialism and neocolonialism because they form a larger whole.

The fact is..... people in, say, Cambodia could decide they are better than everyone else..... look I don't really care. They can say they're the best people in the world.... I don't care because I seriously doubt they're going to bother me or bomb people way off in distant regions..... at least not to my knowledge.

But Western imperialism is a threat all over and US racism cannot be understood without understanding that phenomena..... imperialism is the disease and racism is the symptom.

People focus too much on the symptom imo.

If the Western neocolonialists lost the ability to bomb people and try to meddle in other peoples' business..... they can have their racism for all I care.

I don't really care if people are racist or not. I care if those people have power. If those people have power- then that's an issue and those sorts of people should have power taken from them. That is not extreme- that is just. A loaded gun doesn't belong in the hands of a child.

KF, I'm white and the picture in the first thread in the original post can't have happened by chance. And no, I don't support it. Not all white people support clear cut racism such as this.
I don't mean all white people are racist. I'm saying that America was strictly built on colonialism and racism and so the white people growing up there, through what they have been taught, feel like they are a better and more superior to blacks. They have been taught consciously and subconsciously that they are simply better.

H&Ms recent ad. All the other kids in the ad have different animals on their sweaters while the black kid gets the monkey.

No matter how advanced you get whether it be in your "social" values or technology there will be people out there that just won't like the skin colour of others.
That might look like a form of racism. But I would be more worried if the other kids had different humans on their sweaters, and the black kid the only one with the monkey.

I appreciate this post and this type of thing. The problem is not Europeans and European-descended people.

To use Europe for example.... for me it was really heartbreaking when I learned how Europe can be capable of racism and imperialism. I mean for example it really was heartbreaking for me to learn about Britain First the UK hate group.

I grew up reading about the Greek philosophers and wishing I could be like Socrates.... watching James Bond movies..... listening to Pink Floyd and The Beatles.

The look at the Vietnamese.... in the Vietnamese War..... I read an account that depicted the Vietnamese not as hating "Americans" (I hate that usage of the term because America is a continent and not just one country)..... it showed Vietnamese not as having some sort of hatred.... but more a feeling of heartbreak..... that the Vietnamese soldiers in the account grew up watching US movies and grew up admiring the US.....

so the "anti-US" stuff and etc..... it is not really a thing about hate.... it's more a feeling of betrayal and shock and disappointment.

I mean for example, Chávez and Castro.

It is funny to me because they are very one-sidedly depicted in most English media.

They are made out as 2-D caricatures rather than 3-D, multidimensional people.

For example, Castro was made out to be some sort of cartoon villain. But I know one of his speeches where you can hear that sense of sadness and disappointment I've been talking about. He talked about how ironic it was that the US, once a champion of liberty, had turned against it what once represented.

Chávez too. When he did the Larry King interview, he didn't say "death to the US" or anything like that. He didn't wish harm or destruction to the US. He wasn't like that at all. He said in the interview- he wished to peacefully coexist with the US as brothers. The man was a revolutionary. He was leading a revolution that cost him his life...... and all that for what? Just to achieve a peaceful, brotherly coexistence?

Why should so many people have died just for that which should be so small? It is just basic decency. The Bible says for people to love their neighbors. It is not very Christian how imperialism and racism has treated people. And these things cause a backlash but..... that backlash doesn't just come from out of nowhere. It comes a result of what causes it. And is a logical response to oppression.

The problem is not white people or anything like that, though...... I am tired of the blatant racism that exists and especially of structural racism and imperialism....... but the problem is not white people, the problem is racism.

If Japan was threatening to try to dominate the world then I would be denouncing that. If Africa was out to take over the world I would be against that. But right now Africa and Japan do not seem to be threats and I am not worried about those countries bothering me.
