When I was in school back in the 80's, about 4% identified as gay. Today, they say it's about 30% of students who identify as gay.

There's a reason there are many gay characters today, even in children's cartoons.
There's a reason they call it "programming".

things i hate: whiney arse celebs and idols who complain about the things they get to do instead of appreciating what they have and then those who overshare their mental breakdowns to their gullible fans for sympathy votes to make everyone concerned for that one celeb. its what they chose to do so idgi why they dont just try to get themselves help instead of spiralling like that it doesnt send a good message if anything its toxic asf bc now everyone got to be worried for their fave idol pr celeb or whichever internet star it is. i miss pre internet society when we didnt gaf about celebs and their social media posts didnt cause us any concern, they can shove their attention seeking arses into therapy for all i care. sorry but i have to not gaf about them sometimes.
I agree. Most of the celebrities in their 30s grew up with Myspace or other social networks. They used to be whiny teens on the internet. For example, the former Disney Channel stars from the 2000s. The younger stars are worse. They were children when they started to use Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc.

for real like u could at least ignore the disney stars if thats what u didnt really care about but my generation was still forced to endure that era now it feels like celebs or idols have much more ways to be attention grabbing whether their drama is fake or real idrc anymore. its like they are constantly pushing themselves so we have to pay attention to them and to pretend to care about their personal lives cause now everyone got some rich person they follow or obsess with even if imho they are still quite average or maybe just in need of a lot of a attention but even that seems so egoistical. i think the only celeb who doesnt need extra attention is cillian murphey he stays off the poatforms whereas all the others are online all the time which is just feeding into ppls reactions to shit we dont need to care about.

Indeed. I was referring to former Disney stars such as Britney Spears or Demi Lovato.
It seems almost every celebrity has a social media account. Even the ones who used to be against it are joining like Anne Hathaway.

cause they benefit more from being in everyones faces. the ones i sometimes follow or dip in and out of seem more online than ever before i really dont get how anyones supposed to exist in their own space when we are always swayed into following them usually out of sheer boredom. at least in the 90s we could put down our very small phones and go outside more often, if we go outside nowadays everyones always online.

also what is with the way ppl talk nowadays its like every other person is overly easily offended or cant stand it if the obvious is pointed out to them or in general just the wording of especially dare i say it? gen z... i try interacting with them but idfk i think its the overall language that ppl are using is getting worse and worse. its all for reactions too the whole like and subscribe thing is so easy to fall for cause thats what ppl want if they cant stand an opinion of urs they give u some passive aggressive response even if ur opinion wasnt overly negative to begin with but critique seems to be taken as negativity or hate

I agree with you. One of my relatives is sixteen years old and speaks very urban. She uses weird slang such as "lit" and other that I forgot. She tried to convenience me to be more like her. I said "No way. Your generation is worse than mine". She ranted on how my generation is offensive because we grew up with reality TV and sexist music. I told her no one will take seriously for her whining. I'm glad I stopped talking to that girl.

The teenagers and people in their early twenties criticize every media from the 2000s or before. And yet, they secretly love Mean Girls and 2000s pop music. They're a joke.

for real how they call the stuff we had cringe but the thing was we had time away from the internet which i think greatly helped us build our thinking capabilities whereas nowadays if u go to any platform its just pointles trying to make reasonable conversation with todays kiddos. heck i tried talking to some blogs on tumblr but even they are so quick to be offended easily if u even use a particular tone that they dont like. i literally got told by two blogs that if i used any more i guess what they thought was badmouthing certain idols then id be blocked from their blog, then another blog blocked me for critiquing their contributions to peoples unhealthy attachments of certain idols as well. so i dont get it anymore i really dont get it, they push so much into these platforms that the same toxicity keeps stirring over and over again. if there is ever a time machine u bet im going back to the 90s lol best times imho.

and even other grown adults i know who are constantly failing to think critically cause everyones so ingrained to scrolling and uploading thats all ppl do these days. i dont know many celebs who also arent online bar cillian murphey and i love him for that he seems so normal at least staying away from needing extra attention.

ik its hypocritcal because we all do it we are all chronically online now its obscene. im going to a concert but im going to try not to take too many videos maybe just a few pics here or there but ik everyone around me will be filming it and so its hard not to feel fomo if u arent online its seem as weird. if u arent wired into every trend there is ur weird. if u ever try to put a non aggressive but blunt opinion out u bet it going to get shitted on some way or other.

Indeed. I read an article from a magazine issued in 2014/2015 and it mentioned many teenagers and adults lack critical thinking because they don't read physical books (Ebooks don't count). It also explained how reading books make people more empathetic.

I barely go on any websites anymore because of thin-skinned people. It's Tumblr's fault. That website started all of this. People should learn how to respect others opinions. Agree to disagree.

Have fun! Live in the moment and enjoy the music.

so true i dont remember the last time i sat down to genuinely read a whole book, probably twilight in 2008? back then we could at least put our phones down and do other things now it feels like screens are being pushed everywhere, in cars, watches, phones, fridges u name it itll have a screen. fr ppl put too much emphasis on something than the simple enjoyment of what they have to enjoy and compared to now i think pre internet times we were less bothered by the negatives of something

why when we ask others to do things like memorising things i have said so i dont have to keep repeating it to them? its always the excuse that they have "a lot on their mind" then when im talking to them or trying too i should say ppl are rudely on their phone thus not giving me thier full attention, its hard enough trying to gaf about them at all at this rate i moght as well not exist cause they dont care to make the extra effort and just give me a load of bullshit excuses in response. its weird how i bother to remember things from months even years ago and yet some folk cannot be arsed remembering something i once told them from that time. then they give u an earfull and complain i am expecting too much of them. well sorry but i have standards too and im not lowering them for nobody.

modern times suck arse they really do. everyone is either a wannabe youtuber or once they have an audience they dont care to return the efforts no more. but simple task like actively memorising things and processing what im saying seems to be a huge crime to them and they go off in a huff about it. am i really asking too much of others? apparently so. god modern times are so alienating screens everywhere no one interacting decently without overreacting or overacting and ppl are just zombies. theyre so unaware of themselves and what its doing to others.

its always the same reactions from the same ppl when i bring up an issue i have with themselves, then if i complain that it feels like im talking to myself or bricks its because i fucking feel that way with everh other idjit who doesnt bother to admit they have their own rude habits they dont want to admit to having then their ego gets offended that they had these habits pointed out to them. heck i remember one time my mum was trying to remember her phone number some years ago and i knew it off the top of my head and she was annoyed i remembered it and she didnt. goes to show some people have empty heads when im in the same room as them. and what else are they exactly thinking about bar what im telling them? they never explain. good lord. i wouldve preferred being born in the early 1900s before phones were even a thing cause then u had to force ppl to communicate with u in a decent manner but its like anything anyone else is doing isnt able to be critiqued on bc they dont wanna be wrong about themselves. ever. how can anyone go thru life and not be self aware? are they just airheads then? the type of folk that have to be distracted enough that they cant look u in the eye when ur talking to them? well ofc they arent going to remember.

Phones were around before the 1900s ... not as common as in the 1900s, but they older than that.
i dont care. it doesnt resolve my issue of ppl being blatantly rude and not being able to put their phones down when someone is talking to them. yet whenever its themselves they seem to have no issue pulling it out every 5 seconds.
