Are you sure about your claim? Because prositution aint legal in Vegas is it?
It is, yup.

I don’t say shit if I don’t know it’s true. And if I do I state I’m not sure. I read one of these girls money diaries a while back and looked into it.

In typical SJW-style, you claim something that is untrue (prostitution is legal in Vegas). Then when called on your bullshit, instead of admitting you were wrong, you double-down on your lies. Unless, of course, you were not trying to mislead people, it is just that your reading comprehension and research skills suck.

Prostitution may be legal in certain counties in NEVADA, but none of those counties include Las Vegas, dummy.

The article you posted to back up your claims about Las Vegas doesn’t even mention Vegas lol. Nice research.

Oh I’m sorry, guess the brothel she legally works in is right OUTSIDE of Vegas. I clearly don’t live in Nevada so how the fuck am I supposed to know which county is which? In typical ASSHOLE fashion you miss the forest for the trees in correcting me. The question was about taxing - how you’d collect taxes even if it was legal. There are prostitutes in NEVADA (fixed it for you) that have made themselves LLC’s - aka actual businesses - and do in fact pay their taxes.

Who here would do it as a job?
Is anyone here already doing it?

Who sells their body on Only Fans or other virtual prostitution sites?

Just wondering how popular it would be as a profession.

Did you catch the asshole bug too? Cuz quite frankly I’m out of patience for it. There are prostitutes in NEVADA who are LLC’s for tax purposes. That was the issue in question wasn’t it? Taxes? Not jess’s knowledge of what counties include what towns in Nevada?

Nitpicking something that was entirely irrelevant to the point of what I was saying is petty and an asshole thing to do. Never known you to be either. But here we are.

Yes, the core of the decriminalization idea should be free enterprise.

Someone has to check you guys for the highly questionable morality of keeping underground prostitution rings. More importantly, all the enforcement does is target the tricks and johns. Like wow, what a flex. Let's take some poor people off the streets and throw them in jail instead because dungeons are tight.

I'm so sick of people and their archaic punishment fetishes. Let's call a spade a spade. Many people just want to throw someone in a dungeon because they are a sick and twisted fuck. Don't be that person.

Its not nitpicking. You were flat out wrong and it wasn't an issues of mere mistaken geography, it showed how little you understand regarding the situation on the ground there. The way escort and prostitution laws are structured in Nevada (as imperfect as they may be) are a direct result of/response to their failed experiment with legal prostitution. It doesn't work. Especially in crowded, urban areas with nicknames such as "Sin City"...

Yet there is still legal prostitution in Nevada and legal prostitutes in Nevada still pay taxes. So yeah, it was nitpicking since at no point in time did I offer an opinion on the situation other then there are prostitutes that pay taxes. And you offered ZERO opinion and instead just corrected my geographical mistake which is completely understandable when you consider I live on the opposite side of the country and if prostitution was illegal in Las Vegas (Apparantly it is) you could have fooled me since t the two times I visited I saw prostitutes EVERYWHERE.

Well that’s a ridiculous statement.. there are prostitutes in las Vegas who have managed to make themselves llcs.

Think for a moment. The only time it becomes acceptable is when they are able to exact their pound of flesh in taxes. Otherwise, it's illegal, not because it's immoral but because it's difficult to track $ and collect taxes.

I don't understand why prostitutes should have to pay taxes. Churches pay no taxes , Scientology pay no taxes. Can't prostitutes claim they are doing this for religious reasons and thus exempt from taxes just like churches?

There was this instagram model who posts naked or bikini pics all over her social media which an be considered sex work to an extent, but said she still wouldn't want to sleep with someone in exchange for money. I also know other women who aren't on instagram, but have mastered the art of getting large sums of money from men whom they have never met and never slept with. Others have found a financially well-off bf who takes them on vacations in fancy places. So everyone draws the line at what they think is acceptable behaviour or not.
At the end of the day, I can't fault young women for taking advantage of a system that was designed that way, if you're young and can capitalize on your body/sexuality. That being said, I don't know if I would consider it really empowering. I used to think these women were in control and were beating men at their own game by making the most off the system and the situation they were in, but i don't think this anymore. My opinion on this topic is constantly evolving.

As someone who finds hetero sex inherently degrading, and wouldn't engage in it, but often hear my friends who engage in hookup culture and casual sex talk about feeling used, I can honestly say it is like prostitution. Even though it was encouraged as a form of "liberation", at the end of the day, they are giving males exactly what they want – sex with no strings attached, and no effort or care required. Sites like tinder agregate women as consumables, that's why the demographic is so skewed, like 90%male, and 10% female. The whole dating industry makes money off commodifying women. It doesn't come close to what women go through when they enter sex work, but we can draw a lot of parallels. There was this social media influencer who used to claim that to get women to "take off their clothes, and sexually pleasure strangers" you had to sell them on a dream: promise them they're gonna find love, be treated nicely, etc, and that's what tinder does. Many people believe that having casual sex is actually gonna evolve into a loving relationship.
I'm glad I personally don't have to navigate the madonna-whore dichotomy. Because even though promiscuous behaviour might be encouraged during your youth, chances are, once you're no longer young and desirable, you're considered damaged good, both because you're not young anymore, and also because if you've been around, you're not considered "marriage material" or whatever bs. There are tons of arbitrary rules that het-women who pursue have to confrom to, depending on where you stand on the madonna-whore dichotomy, or on a scale of 1 to 10 of "fuckability". That's why a lot of older women (not all, but some) project their insecurities and inadequacies onto younger women by telling them to stay chaste and adopting the same attitude as basically a male chauvinist pig, ultimately it's still a way of controlling women. Or projecting their insecurities regarding their bodies, since during their youth, they've been told it's their most marketable asset, and it could be anything from being too old, not having a hot enough body, being too fat, saggy skin, etc...
Someone once said that men were at the bottom of the totem pole because they cannot imagine what it's like to commodify your body/sexuality, but I'd argue that men aren't even at the bottom since they create the demand/market. And that at the bottom of the totem pole (of desirability) it's actually older women, the older you get the more you lose "value". A lot of older women are bitter about this, and that's why they blame the young women, instead of blaming the system that commodifies them. I'm not interested in chastizing individual women instead of a system. Just like I'm not interested in critiquing prostitution/sex work, if we're not also critiquing capitalism.
You find "hetero sex" inherently degrading and violent... but not homosexual activity? Especially male homosexuality? Talk about selective outrage lol

A lot of madams are older women, usually. Depending on the city, they sell a lot more than sex in some of these places. Massage parlors are known for guns and drugs in some places like LA.

(I don't know if someone already made a thread on this matter, just thought I would post this.)

"Criminalization makes sex workers more vulnerable to violence, including r*pe, assault, and murder, by attackers who see sex workers as easy targets because they are stigmatized and unlikely to receive help from the police. Criminalization may also force sex workers to work in unsafe locations to avoid the police.

Criminalization consistently undermines sex workers’ ability to seek justice for crimes against them.
They said that they are afraid of being arrested because their work is illegal and that their experience with police is of being harassed or profiled and arrested, or laughed at or not taken seriously. "

"Does decriminalizing sex work encourage other human rights violations such as human trafficking and sexual exploitation?
Sex work is the consensual exchange of sex between adults. Human trafficking and sexual exploitation are separate issues. They are both serious human rights abuses and crimes and should always be investigated and prosecuted."

"Governments should fully decriminalize sex work and ensure that sex workers do not face discrimination in law or practice. They should also strengthen services for sex workers and ensure that they have safe working conditions and access to public benefits and social safety nets."

Hi, in my opinion the absolutely horrific, extremely traumatizing, and evil act of kidnapping ANY human being against their will by greedy, cruel, and (pure evil) perpetrators for the mere sake of making money by forcing these victims to be RAPED continuously (several times a day) by various “johns” (paying “clients”), the perps themselves, as well as physically & emotionally abusing, threatening, forcing them to become addicted to an array of powerful narcotics, as well as holding them hostage (sex trafficking) must be a never ending nightmarish “existence” for the victim. I have watched raw interviews with the (lucky & blessed) survivors of this unspeakable crime; which is motivated by power, intimidation, torture, & greed. The individuals responsible for choosing to force people into sexual slavery against their will should be…(well..I will spare everyone the details of the punishment I would love to see them endure; I’ll end with that). The interviews with the (mostly women & girls) who were forced to endure this both harrowing & barbaric abuse brought me to tears…The issue here for me is..where are these heartless men who know the situation of these victims; yet make the choice to seek out these “forced services,” and pay money to r*pe these victims. This is not just a low-grossing “industry…” Just as the disgusting “industry” of “child pornography” (the poor kids are usually kidnapped, and also sadly their own demented & hateful “parents” choose to heartlessly exploit them behind closed doors, video tape them torturing their own kids (I read the name of the perverse genre is called “Hurtcore,”) and sell the evil, f**ked up videos for profit. I believe I read this is a billion dollar so called “business..” Peter Scully was doing this..(Google at your own risk..) The country he did this in was so horrified they were going to reinstate the death penalty for this twisted b**tard! BUT…by “a very strange coincidence” all of the evidence against him was “accidentally burned up in a fire!” Bullsh*t!! The sad truth is that money talks, and there has to be a “want” (not NEED) in society for such “products” (I say products sarcastically..human beings are NOT products to be sold against their will & exploited…then, when they have no use for these victims anymore..(and if they are not rescued, escape, etc..) the inevitable tragically occurs. Death.
