As a parent I have been fastidious in complying with vaccine regulations, medical histories can support this statement. It’s a form of totalitarianism to label people as “anti vax” because they have voiced concerns about the introduction of the world’s first digital vaccine passport to control the free movement of people. We know from the study of social psychology that the dominant group in societies create and apply deviant labels to groups of people they wish to control. Once the group is identified as deviant, it is extremely difficult to remove that label. The group becomes stigmatized and is likely to be considered untrustworthy by others. In this way, the state, using mainstream media for propaganda purposes manages to control the population. In response to the thousands of emails received by MEPs, Billy Kelleher MEP is quoted by the Times as saying “it’s all part of a conspiratorial agenda.” MEPs vote today on whether to speed up procedure to allow for debates to be held earlier on the proposed EU digital vaccine certificates. “It is extremely unusual to have 2-3,000 emails coming in overnight and over the course of a day and a half. I think you really have to ask questions about the algorithms and so on behind it and the ability to generate this,” said Fine Gael’s Frances Fitzgerald, who sits on a disinformation committee in the parliament.
